I would think that the Cowboys would clinch with 2 more wins.

Other than home field in the conference championship, the #2 NFC seed has an easier road than #1.

I think if we win Thursday, that would give us 10 wins and that would put us in the Playoffs?

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if 9 wins puts you in the Playoffs.

You are probably right but I can see the Seahawks giving Green Bay some trouble if they meet up in the playoffs. Holmgren usually has good games against his former team.

I'm just looking forward to playing the Patriots again, this time when it counts the most!

As it stands, yes, but since the divisional round is re-seeded, who knows who we would play.

I'd say that Tampa and Seattle would be the 3-4 seeds with NYG and Det/Wash getting the wild card. Quite frankly, I'd rather play TB or Seattle than one of our division rivals. Not because I don't think we can't beat them obviously, but the familiarity would hurt us more so in those matchups. I think we match up better with those 2 teams as well.

I totally agree. I think any of those teams (Lions, Seahawks, Buccs) would be a better matchup for us. I'm not too concerned about our team playing a divisional foe in the playoffs, but I still have visions of the '98 wildcard round in my head.

The bracket is wrong. GB would not get the winner of the Lions and Seattle unless the hawks won. If the Lions won Dallas would play the lions. Dallas will get the team with the worst record.

The divisional round matchups are contingent on who wins the wildcard games. Nothing is set yet and I don't think CBS meant to imply it was.

The only thing we know at the start of the playoffs is where the divisional games will be played, not necessarily who will play the home teams.

The Giants are the last team I'd want to play in the second round.

Are wildcard teams always seeded 5th and 6th?

Definitely but one probably does it only because many of the teams with five losses play each other so they cannot all end up 11-5.

The NFL playoffs are not based on a pure bracket system. In the divisional playoffs, the No. 1 seed is assured of playing the lowest-seeded Wild Card survivor. There are no restrictions on intra-division games and the higher seed of any matchup will have home-field advantage.

I wondered about that but too lazy to really look it up!

So basically if the Packers self destruct the #1 and #2 seed can be the cowboys and giants? I am sure the lower seeds have to always play the highest seeds. The higher seed has that advantage of always playing the "easier" (less ranked) teams.

No way man I'd be more worried about the Giants. Its a division rival and those games can get pretty wild. I'd rather face the lions for sure

Dallas plays them later in the regular season. Check back then.

No, the Giants would be a wild card team and not able to be the #2 seed to begin the playoffs.
