Playoff Wins Last 15 years, Cowboys 1, Texans 1

We'll know next year. I seriously doubt they repeat as NFC South Champions with Manning returning and the Colts drafting early. I also think the Titans are a better team than they are.
Don't know why you would say that considering Houston will have their QB back and most of their defense and team overall is very young...

Weither we like it or not . the Garrett and company have to weed out all the overpaid , im collecting a paycheck veterans left over from wades administration.

Wade's administration? No, it is the same administration run by Jerry and Stephen Jones. Nothing has changed.

Gosh I think the Texans go into next year a SB favorite, maybe not THE SB favorite but definately a contender with that star power on offense and talent in the front seven.

Would Dallas have won a home playoff game last year with Stephen McGee starting, because that's the scenario Yates and the Texans faced yesterday. Yes, it was the Bengals, and yes, the Bengals were starting a rookie QB of their own, which helped Houston's cause, but Daulton wasn't as green or lowly drafted as Yates.

:lol i was thinking the same thing yesterday.

i wish jerry would just fire himself from GM duties, because it hasnt worked for over 15 years.

our division was also terrible and we had an extremely easy schedule overall.

Texans

Indy (terrible) W
@Miami (awful at start of season) W
@New Orleans L
Pitt W (quality win)
Oakland L
@Balt L
@Tenn W
Jacksonville W
Cleveland W
@Tampa Bay W
@Jacksonville W
Atlanta W (quality win)
@Cincy W
Carolina L
@Indy L
Tenn L

There is two quality wins against non **** teams, and overall except the Saints, a bunch of crappy offenses.

That is pretty close to the weakest schedule in the league especially in regards to offensive firepower.

Yes, the east was down this year as well, but Wash and Philly are both better than anything else in that division.

It is not just the players.

It is the culture of the entire franchise.

I do not think it is instilled in every player on this roster that they are not important and can be replaced. There are layers of importance, usually dictated by salary, that are a severe problem. Competition is at a minimum and even marginal success is rewarded. Name the "hungry" up and coming players on this roster? Everyone, from the starters to the lowliest scrub placekicker who does not even kick field goals has a sense of entitlement.

A team does not repeat the same problems year after year with different personalities unless there is a lingering infestation at the core of the franchise. And that comes from the top.

I agree with 99% of what you said in this post, but I do see Sean Lee as a hungry, up-and-coming player. But outside him, most of the other young players still leave something to be desired.

Rookie T.J. Yates has as many playoff wins as veteran Tony Romo. :bang2:

So true, maybe we can trade for Yates and start a new Cowboy's tradition of excellence.

We could have Yates, Brady, Brees, or Rodgers and it wouldn't make much of a difference if we had the same Swiss Cheese O -Line and terrible Defense.

:rolleyes: According to some, they are a one year wonder. What does that make the Cowboys? I'd rather be a one year wonder than an enigma.

Really? Well, then, I guess don't let the Cowboys rear door hit you...;)

The 5-11 Skins were better than the 9-7 Titans? LOL.

This is true.

If the two were to play today - I'd take Washington to win. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Washington didn't play near as bad as their 5-11 record would indicate. I hate myself for saying that, but it's true.

Of course the NFC East teams are better than the AFC South teams. Records are irrelevant.

We're headed in the right direction! We were a 6-10 team and we ascended to 8-8 excellence. See, right direction!

Well, the only thing other than records that we can compare is common games.

Washington lost to Carolina, who Tennessee soundly beat.
Washington lost to Buffalo, who Tennessee beat.

I know I'm probably missing some, but yeah, the Titans would definitely beat the Commanders. Probably Dallas too.

we had ONE quality win. they also had to play with a back up qb.

I agree about Lee. He is the one player I have seen on this defense that makes timely game-changing plays and I am including Ware in the discussion.

You broach an interesting point.

We lament injuries, and cite them as reasons for missed opportunities.

Yet, the Texans are playing without their starting quarterback, have missed their primary running back and/or primary wide receiver for most of the season, and still managed a division championship and playoff win.

in a very weak division where they were guaranteed four wins before the ball was kicked off.

Which four games were guaranteed wins?
