Playoff Wins Last 15 years, Cowboys 1, Texans 1

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Texans now have the same amount of wins in the playoffs as the Cowboys for the last 15 years.

While this is true and facts are facts, I would like to point out that over the same duration of time that the Texans have existed the Cowboys do have 2 division titles vs 1, and have been to the playoffs 4 total times, playing in 5 games. So while this IS true, the implication here is that the Cowboys have been a dud through and through, and I would argue that we are merely a playoff dud.

You broach an interesting point.

We lament injuries, and cite them as reasons for missed opportunities.

Yet, the Texans are playing without their starting quarterback, have missed their primary running back and/or primary wide receiver for most of the season, and still managed a division championship and playoff win.

It is not just about passion. They have better talent across the board save a couple of positions. Think of your top five best Cowboys and that is where we are superior. After that, not so much.

Not only did they have an excellent offseason where they quickly overhauled their secondary and solved a nagging problem, they had young talent that had not done well so far come around. Players like Earl Mitchell and Conner Barwin stepped up.

I think it's because of exposure to Texans fans. It sucks realizing you're the worst pro team in Texas.

Definitely. They have a much better defense than we do. But they sustained a ton of injuries and still played at a high level. When Romo went down last year the entire team gave up. It doesn't matter what talent you have there, if they don't play with passion and intelligence, you're done.

It just feels as if we have a dumb (offsides penalties, false starts, receivers not knowing where to line up, DBs who don't look for the ball) team that just doesn't come out fighting when you would expect teams to do so.

I'm just saying that it sucks that that's the case, and IMO I honestly don't feel as if we're going in the right direction at this point. That Giants game just didn't sit well with me.
