9-7 may not do it. We may need to run the table. It's definitely possible but we've just got so many holes right now. Last season we had maybe the best offensive line in the game along with the best running back. Last night we had only two of those linemen in the game and the running back was out. Last year everyone counted Green Bay out at this point and they recovered to win make a deep playoff run.

Magic 8 ball answers: Can we? Yes. Will we? Doesn't look good.

There is more chance that Jerry will have Romo's baby than that happening...

If they win on Thursday and we lose to the Chargers, that finishes us. That would put them at 7-4 and put us at 5-6. We aren't catching the Lions if that happens. A win for the Lions over the Vikings will give them major confidence for the rest of the season. In fact, that Viking game may be the best game of the day.

Don't underestimate the Vikings, old fellow!

Babe pointed out last week that good teams don’t get blown out like they did in Atlanta and it had now happened twice.

Now it’s three times and this was a historical loss. Last night was worse than the 04 Monday night game.
And just as bad as the 44-6 08 final game

Did you see how it that RB blew past Hitchens on that 4th quarter 60 yard run up the middle?
Have you seen how Lee is fragile to the point of being a laughingstock?

At 5-5, I say we can squeeze in at 9-7 IF we upset the
Seahawks, raiders or eagles and do what we need to against the lower-talents Chargers, Skins and Giants.
Otherwise Jerry is humiliated again, thanks to his insistence on a milqtoast HC and his ineptness at being GM.

The chargers are not Lower talents.

There offense is super talented and their pass rush is also. They should be a playoff team in a very weak afc but for some reason they find ways to lose games.

I fear they may score in the 40’s Thursday. It could be the straw that breaks the camels back with this current group in this era.

Even Jerry and Stephen would have to accept reality if they are blown out in prime time twice in four days

I wish I had some reason to hope that losing any games would result in a change at the coaching level.
I just don't see Jerry making a change away from JG... Maybe Linehan would be the sacrifice. I believe Jerry will blame the losses on injuries and Zeke and not make any changes.

I have a feeling that we’re not going to beat the Chargers on Thursday. This type of loss has a way of demoralizing a team in a way that isn’t recoverable.

We’ll learn a lot about the team on Thursday.

Look, this team is not making the playoffs. But if they did, and had all 5 starters on the offensive line, a healthy Sean Lee, Dan Bailey and Zeke... there would be no embarrassments. No one would want to play us.

But surviving until we have everybody healthy is the issue.
