You can't silence that.

Best post you've ever made, IMO, Nors.

Bravo.

Actually I was talking about the new age QB's like Vick, Mcnabb, Culpepper, etc

Also don't forget the bums who were hyped up beyond belief and failed miserably: Akili Smith, *cough Quincy Carter cough*

I'd take Quincy over Bledsoe NOW without thinking twice.

Well then i guess that demonstrates your wealth of football knowledge then...let me guess he's the reason this team made the playoffs two years ago right?

Also to address that other post....yah it won't bode well for bledsoe to be sacked 40+ times..but then again I think he was sacked closed to 50 times 3 years ago in his first year in buffalo...but then again he did pass for 4500 yards and shattered all their franchise records? I'm sure that was a mistake right?

And did Buffalo make the playoffs? Dismissed. :enough:

No, because he doesnt belong sitting atop a cathedral like Bledsoe.

Their defense couldn't stop a JV high school team that year....also there was a certain team from new england in their way as well

1: It's called the Wild Card, and you dont have to win your division to make the playoffs because of it.

2: KC's defense was far more putrid that year and every other year, yet they almost always make the playoffs with that horrible defense.

The only thing that worries me about Drew is the sack totals. Sacks really kill any chance of running a ball control offense. I don't think Drew feels the rush very well, and he certainly doesn't elude well. His sack totals have always been high regardless of the line he is playing behind.

FYI: Mike Vick was sacked 46 times in only 15 games.

Bledsoe was sacked 37 times in 16 games.

Oh yeah, Vick played in the NFC. Bledsoe played in the AFC. He had to play against the Patriot defense twice. That accounted for nine sacks.

Now check this out: Bledsoe played against 4 NFC teams last year. Guess how many times he was sacked: 3 times in four games.

There's no VALID reason to worry about Bledsoe's sack total.

The reason Bledsoe takes sacks is because he's a tough SOB, and he stands in the pocket waiting for his receivers to get open.

Great post my man! I wish people would realize that mobile QB's aren't always the better solution. Buffalo is going to learn that the hard way this year when that idiot lossman leads them to 5-11 or 6-10.

I forget to point that out as well, that Bledsoe played in the AFC against far superior defensive teams than what is here in the NFC.

Also think about this...we play the NFC West this year (who bledsoe destroyed last year 4-0) the Commanders twice (we swept them, and drew gets to go against the former coach that dragged him dow)....the giants twice who bledsoe's owned during his career....the AFC West (another division bledsoe has fared well against most of the time)...Detroit...my goodness the only defense on our schedule that scares me is the egirls twice and carolina.

-Taking the lords name in vein in a title thread is quite offensive....

-You have zero defense for Drew Beldsoe, in fact when Drew opened his mouth a few months back about how many yards and TD's he's thrown for, a media guy researched his exact stats - seasons -picks -red zone apppearances etc....and It turns out....THAT IN THE HISTORY OF NFL FOOTBALL - Drew Bledsoe is statistically speaking one of the worst the sport has ever seen. He is so bad in the Red Zone for his career, it's mind boggling.

-Other than that you make a good case...

Ok two points...

"Mobile QB" does not mean a black quarterback. It means guys that can move around in and out of the pocket to make time before they toss the ball... or can run once in a while to keep defenses honest. Elway was doing that his entire carreer including the Superbowl runs... Young too.

Perhaps you meant "dual threat" QBs... There are quite a few of them.. see Big 12 South.

Don't compare Vick's sack total to Drews, because any tackles behind scrimage are considered a sack even if the were designed running plays. Drew doesn't have too many of those and Vick does.

I'll stand by what I said before. Sacks hurt Ball Control Offenses. When Bledsoe was passing for 4500 yards that was not a ball control offense. A sack in a ball control offense kills the drive.

I do agree that turnovers are worse than sacks... I wish Bledsoe was a bigger improvement in that area then QC or VT so I could ignore the sacks, but he's not that much better in that regard. He fumbles far too much. Either way I think he's a slight improvement. Lets hope the defense gets much better.

I dont' think that is true in the NFL. I think college is that way, but a designed run by the QB is not considered a sack if there is a loss on the play. It may come down to the opinion of the statitician recording it. I think Vick's sack totals are higher because he is a younger QB. Bledsoe has some wisdom on him. Vick will learn to get rid of the ball or he just won't progress as an NFL qb.

Dude, you've gotta be kidding, right?

Supposing he makes it through rehab, stops talking about himself in the third person, stops fumbling snaps from center, stops throwing wounded ducks, stops thinking only about himself, stops throwing pitiful no-air passes into the dirt, and successfully serves his four game suspension-- I'd still say no way in Hell do I wan't this waste of memory anywhere near Valley Ranch.

Stats lie. How many TD's did Ben Coates have? I guess those were all thrown from 21+ yards away. See there was this HOF guy named Curtis Martin running in the redzone and a guy by the name of Adam Viniateri kicking so they tended to get their share if you know what I mean?

BTW, that guy who went through all of Bledsoes games couldn't add. He published some outrageous lie about Bledsoe's win-loss record vs. winning teams which was off by at least ten games in each direction.

Hating on Bledsoe will get you nowhere; this guy is better than anyone out there we could have had. For the 2005 season he'll be better than the kids playing in Jacksonville, Detroit, Houston, and maybe even Cincinnati and we don't have to spend 4 years training him.
