Think of all the NFL owners who could have had this guy just a few years ago and they wouldn't pull the trigger. He even had his stomach stapled a few years ago (and almost died from the surgery) in an attempt to make himself more marketable. As if coaching Tom Brady to a couple of SB wins didn't make him marketable.
I think he will be loyal to ND for giving him a chance when no NFL team wanted him, but I could see him looking for the bigger stage after a few successful years. I certainly don't see him leaving Jimmy Clausen, (the #1 HS QB in the country who committed to him this summer), high and dry.
There is one little point in his contract that hasn't been discussed very much. It is that although ND did step up and extend his contract for 10 years, they also gave themselves an out in the contract language if for some reason he doesn't win as much as everyone thinks he is going to over the next few years.
ND's loyalty to Weis is tempered by the possibility that things can change.
