Thurman's Thieves doesn't sound gay. Plus it's original. And it wasn't the name of their defense, it was the name of a specific group in our defense, the secondary. Anything with "Boys" in it isn't original, and it sounds gay. Young, old, middle aged... doesn't matter, it still sounds gay.
The cowboys already have one of the greatest named defenses in history. I don't see the point in going away from that tradition just for the sake of being "fresh". I mean, if the traditional name were something like "The purple people eaters" I'd be all for a change of name. But Doomsday? That name kicks all kinds of ***. Really, the Steel Curtain and Doomsday... doesn't get better then those two names.
