Pocket Presence?

5 sacks and 2 fumbles against that defense yesterday by Prescott was alarming because he didn't see it coming or as Aikman said once "Dak didn't feel the pressure". Prescott's predecessor was a master at that.

The other concern I have is just how 100% is that ankle and/or calf? He shows a reluctance to escape the pocket and run and moving to his right, his accuracy is off and if you watch, you will see his foot off the ground which sends the ball high on those overthrows.

The Joneses are notorious for downplaying injuries and I do wonder about Prescott when he has to depend on that ankle. Could be mental as well, that's the key to players with knee operations, they have to trust that joint.

When Lamb went out, trying to keep a very poorly thrown ball from being picked, the game should have shifted to a more mobile QB, if that was possible. No way those backups are scaring the defense and the offense should have reverted to the run game, with the two RB's and the QB.

The question I have is can they? Is Dak Prescott a 100% QB?

BTW, I watched Prescott play his last two years at Miss St and that pocket presence problem was there, he would be surprised that the DL or LB was on him.

I gotta say, if my LT is out and I've got a ? at LG, I am going to be a lot more aware of that than he was yesterday. Shades of Chazz Green and half of those sacks were Prescott's fault in that game.
And Mahomes didn’t feel the pressure from Parsons either. It’s hard when you’re running for your life

All of those roll out options run/pass against a falcon team that was already beat should have been the 2nd half game plan against the Chiefs.
It was a total screwup again. Because I was just distichs for that much different. And they were healthy and at home

Prescott is fine. He has never been great in the pocket and moving out of the pocket. Probably his biggest weakness IMO. He has gotten used to having protection. It failed miserably yesterday and honestly most times yesterday he had nowhere to go unless he was going with 1-2 seconds. The collapse on the inside took away anywhere for him to go. He did not play well but I would have not really expected him to given the circumstances. Really has minimal mobility - I have said that all along.
I don't expect him to be Lamar Jackson, but I thought he was much more nimble than what he showed yesterday.

Aaron Rodgers - 15/28 - 0 TDs / 2 INTs - against New Orleans. Oh yeah, they lost 38-3
I guess Rodgers isn't the one.

Aaron Rodgers/ 20 sacks this season so I guess his pocket presence sucks.

Yeah but Rodgers arm talent and skill at reading defenses is light years ahead of Daks. Rodgers is the master at throwing a receiver open.

I think he is so panic-stricken when he's under center that he's just oblivious. That's why he doesn't sense the rush. It's also why he tends to lock in on one receiver. I think he gets brain freeze, or his brain is on the slow side to begin with.

He’s not moving the same. That is evident. But that game yesterday looked like Romo against Minny in the playoffs. No chance to do anything. Stupid Spagnola (infamous around here) at his finest. He never could get set and when he did WR’s we’re dropping balls.

He's like 99% of QB's out there. If you are in his face all game and make him uncomfortable in the pocket he's not nearly as effective. See TB vs KC superbowl. The elite, future HOF Mahomes was pedestrian in that game, and he was pedestrian for the last 3/4 of the game yesterday when the rush started getting home.

Stop speaking logically…it goes over some folks’ heads.

Chiefs executed the blueprint . Shut the running game down and pressure Dak.

Not all teams can do it but KC did from the onset . And with our question marks and weaknesses on left side of OL and injuries to WR it’s enough to totally take us out of our game.

Is there some lingering health issues with Dak. Possibly but not enough to totally shut us down without the other contributing factors.

Right and couple that in with our OL and WR injuries , etc, it’s tough to overcome. KC deserves some credit too.

What a pathetic thread. Ironic, it's all of the Romosexuals blasting Dak and making up bunk. Typical and definitely expected.

The entire Cowboys' OL faltered horribly, vs. the KC Chiefs last Sunday. Dak Prescott needs to find a way to react better to the pressures that may await him within any given game. Throwing the ball away isn't the act of a coward -- it's, rather, an act that's very necessary to buy time for yet, another play. Dak also needs to know that he's not the quickest QB around. He's quite slow to initiate takeoff with that heavy body of his. He must become aware of it and find a way to time his delivery a bit quicker or simply throw the ball away. I wouldn't be too surprised if he's being told that, lately. He'll be fine. o_O

I think that JJ and SJ are in his head. Also think the ankle tickles the back of his mind. I think that is why he is reluctant to take off.
