Poll: Cowboys America's most hated team

It's jealousy, it really is. I have friends who swear they hate the cowboys, but when I have a game on and Romo throws a beauty on 3rd and 13 for a 1st, I look at them and you can just tell they wish they could root for them.

But then they remember how the boys most likely robbed there team of their SB, 15 min of fame, limelight, glory, etc.

I'm surprised and disappointed the the Cheaters are that close to us. We need to win a Superbowl in the next year or so to widen that gap.

There is logic and then there is flawless logic. This is the latter. Let's roll up some serious hatred.

Think back to the Campo years. We weren't hated then. In fact, it was an odd blend of disgust and pity.

'cept when we played Washington. We owned them.

Great! I say if you're not being hated on then you're not doing something right! Nobody hates a nobody!!!! ;)
:beer1: Here's to MORE hatred (and thus more success) for the Cowboys this upcoming season! :beer1:

If I wasn't a Cowboys fan, I would definitely hate them.

I became a fan as a young kid, and have stuck with them since. Nothing about them encompasses any of the other teams I root for.

All the other teams I like are local (A's, Sharks, Warriors). I hate the SF Giants, and choose to root for the underfunded, underdog A's. I can't stand teams like the Red Wings (NHL Equivalent to Dallas in a way).

If I was picking a team today, it would probably be the Raiders, just because of their locality. But I made my choice a long time ago and wont change.

I've never felt that way. To me, the Cowboys stand for (often misplaced) arrogance. I'm not jealous of arrogance.

Well, we can always count on the fans in our division hating our guts. People like to think that winning breeds contempt, but the Steeler and Niner dynasties were never loathed by the causal fan quite like the Cowboys. The "America's Team" tag might be the culprit.

Excellent post, especially the part about "America's Team."

FYI: That so-called 'arrogance' is often misinterpreted.

It's good to admit these things to oneself.

I'd like to hear about an example of this 'arrogance'.

To play devils advocate:

Not having won a playoff game in 11 years, but continually throwing yourself into a conversation of CURRENT relevant teams.

Any examples of conversations dealing with current 'relevant' teams?

'Conversation' where?

Here?

What would anyone expect of us here?

And if I'm not mistaken, they were the NFC's #1 seed two years ago.

To continue my game of devil's advocate:

Yes, but you were one and done in the playoffs. Why so boastful?

Not 'boasting', merely stating fact.

A #1 seed is relevant.

Only one team is crowned champion of the NFL each season. If that's the only 'relevance' necessary, what the heck are the other 31 teams supposed to talk about?

Oh. I know. "They're the champs. They're good. I wish we were them".

That's a relevant conversation alright.
