Which do you think is the team's greatest position need (GPN) during the draft? Your choice doesn't necessarily have to be the best player available (BPA) for any given pick/selection. <Poll will be added momentarily>

Well, I messed up the poll! Here are the choices (if a mod would be so kind as to add..: ):
  • Quarterback
  • Running Back
  • Full Back
  • Tight End
  • Wide Receiver
  • Center
  • Guard
  • Left Tackle
  • Right Tackle
  • Defensive End
  • Defensive Tackle/Nose Tackle
  • Outside/Inside Linebacker
  • Cornerback
  • Free Safety
  • Strong Safety

Safety - a ball hawking safety at that, none of those I dont know how to play the ball when it is in the air type of DBs. We have plenty of those.

Inside linebacker.

Unless Roy actually moves to that spot (which I think is plausible), then free safety.

Agreed.

ILB unless burnett is resigned or a FA is brought in.

if that is addressed, S or NT.

A true nose tackle who would allow Ratliff to move to DE replacing Canty and help solidify the middle of the defense.

nope a big DT to clog the middle, Ron Brace from BC or Hood from Mizzu

Nose Tackle, esp if we don't re-sign Canty. If we re-sign Canty, worse case Ratliff can stay at NT.

I think if Canty is not resigned, the Cowboys would like to move Ratliff to DE and get a massive NT to clog the middle.

After NT, ILB assuming Z Thomas is gone and Burnett is not re-signed.

Finally, Safety.

In FA, if both Z Thomas and Burnett are gone, I'd hope we get a veteran ILB.

The real dilemma is what we do if Canty is not resigned and Tank is gone (likely). Then we potentially need 2 defensive lineman. I'd think we would have to try to get 1 guy in FA - unless we are really sure of Bowen and Hatcher.

NT. A solid NT opens up a lot of other options on the line with being able to move Ratliff around.
Safety? If Wade (after the mid-season takeover) could make Keith Davis not look completely lost out there imagine what he could do with a healthy Roy38? I am not a big Roy38 fan anymore but I think its a strong possibility that Wade, assuming he is still here, could help him a lot.
And start looking for another LT this year.

1. ILB
2. FS
3. OT
4. NT/DE depending on what we do with Ratliff.
5. QB

ILB, S, or NT. Any of those three, depending on who does or doesn't leave via FA and who is or isn't picked up via FA would probably be the #1 priority going into the draft.

Beyond that it's O-Line depth and a back-up QB.

My number one choice, at this point if we lost no one in FA and picked no new guys up, would be a Safety who can play the ball.

You said Anthony Spencer couldn't play DE in a 3-4, but you think Roy can play ILB in a 3-4?

Wow.

You had me fooled bro.

Tie. Left Tackle and Free Safety.

Let Hamlin play SS.

You really can't see the difference?

I don't know how happy I'll be with Hamlin at SS. After seeing the way he doesn't really support the run well, which he'd need to do at SS, I'm not sure how great a deal it would be to have him there.
