OK, I didn't even think he was even that good in returns..

We do need a quality punt returner, thats for sure.

I hope Thompson can be effective and add a boost to KO returns...

We can't just cut Morgan without him being replaced by a Vet...
No way I want a guy named Crowder or Copper as our #4 guy...

He just got cut by the Falcons in favor of a 2nd year WR who had all of 7 catches last year, a rookie, and Brian freakin Finneran.. I doubt he expects to be a #1. Hell, I doubt he expects to come into any team as more than a third option considering the timing.

Anyway, I'm all for signing Price, we need the depth and he has solid potential.

That's not entirely accurrate imho. They'd prolly be happy to keep him there if he wasn't getting #1 WR money. Therefore it's not purely a production/talent/etc cut but one also around money. These types of cuts can be great for other teams and they can make no impact. I think /if/ he'll sign for #3 money and be a team player then he's a great add. I just have a feeling he'll still be deluded and think he can compete for the #1 or 2 and want that type of money. I'm honestly not sure /what/ his value is but if he's willing to do an incentive laden contract that IMO would be the best option.

I would like to have the depth and competition he would bring. However, i'm concerned that he adds nothing on special teams and I worry about his attitude. He has been known to whine and his comment "they don't pay me to block" just grates the heck out of me. Ergo, I vote no.

I do think he will be here however, and I will root for him.

Yes, sign him...and if he doesn't pan out, he won't be around that long anyway. Although...since we haven't signed him as of yet, I'm beginning to think that we may have missed our chance because once he leaves Dallas to visit with another team, I think one of those other teams will definitely sign him.

I say yes. He's cleary not a no.1 WR, but if Julius Jones can be one of the better RBs in the league, along with Jason Witten who is already a top 3 or so TE and Keyshawn who is still a very good possesion WR, all we need is someone who can get deep. Price brings a lot of the same things to the table as Glenn, but he's younger and gives us a solid WR if Glenn or Keyshawn get hurt.

Check your stats there JT, I don't think Price was that good, although he did have some time returning punts...

To answer the question...
If Morgan is cut, (YES) its a MUST sign...

We can't start a season with only 2 WR's with decent NFL experence and Crayton...

I just question the timing...Not even one preseason game to develop any gelling with the offense...If might prove to be poor chemistry...

Agreed. Might not help out this year at all. This was Morgans main issue last year.

If this guy doesn't sign and it turns out to be because of money or palying time, I for one won't be bashing him.

Certainly he will understand his big payday came two years ago when he signed the contract as a #1.

But 'it's a business' and a longer term than one year contract is always a major concern.

If Price thinks he is worth more than JJ and Stephen offer (and I trust they do their usual good job of making things feel palatable), it won't mean he isn't a 'team player' either.

It will mean he feels he has something to prove..that is he under 30, not that far removed from a 94 catch season, and still considers himeelf a starting reciever in this league and should be compensated like one. And receiver the playing time on past performance.

If he DIDN'T feel that way, that would be the real 'red flag'.

I agree, and that's my point. he was cut by the Falcons because he's not a #1 WR and wasn't worth the money, so I'd imagine he realizes that he's not going to be a #1 WR or get that type of money at this point.

It is hard to say just yes or no. I think it depends on the deal. I don't want him at all costs.

But a nice incentive laden contract would be ok.

Price will the number 2 wr by game 8 with glenn as the number 1- key will be the 3rd down wr and possesion guy- which is perfect for this point in his career

I'm for signing him at a reasonable incentive laced contract and letting Quincy Morgan play somewhere else. I actually went to the same High School as Quincy Morgan (South Garland) and wanted him to be a solid contributer to the team, however I can't stand cry babies that when they feel the pinch of someone else playing better than them and moving up the depth chart they cry foul play and want out. My feeling is that Patrick Crayton maybe not as fast as Quincy has more ability to catch balls and run after the catch. I believe simply put that Quincy Morgan is getting beat out for the 3rd Receiver spot and can't handle it. Well than its best to move on since he can't accept being the 4th Receiver.
