Poll: The Jake Ferguson Incompletion Turned Interception

[Cmac]

94% in this poll....me telling you my thoughts multiple times and you are still confused.

I cant help you bro. Good luck.

Then I'd have to ask again......is there a problem with my not voting or my thoughts on some threads? That's what I'm wondering. Your thoughts on this thread haven't specifically interested me. Well, flag football during Thanksgiving did. Seemed like good fun, comraderie, and energy for the turkey & game

[GINeric]

Bro. People would take your dislike of Dak more seriously if you showed some objectivity.

That’s a pass that any paid NFL pass catcher needs to make. It’s not even that hard of a pass for a professional receiver or tight end to make

You have to understand... the dude you're responding to has never said anything positive about Dak or the Cowboys after victories or big plays in our favor.

He's far from being a Cowboys fan. Ive never read him post anything positive when positive things happen for the Cowboys. Just giving you a heads up.

[CowboysFaninHouston]

Yeah Ferguson blew it, I’m not disputing that. I was saying the issue with the throw doesn’t have as much to do with the drop

Not sure if understand

OMG it is getting so crazy here in this forum. People will twist and turn and drive their own heads up their...just to make everything Dak's fault.

Ferguson is pain $12.5 million per year to play football. It is a crucial moment in the game and he has to catch that pass. Anyone hear of something call a pass catching radius? That's the area where a ball is delivered a receiver can make the catch. The ball to Ferguson was almost in the middle of that radius and well within arms reach. Was it perfect? No. But it was more than good enough. First off, receivers are supposed to catch with their hands and not let the ball get into their bodies where it can bounce of pads, or face masks. The receiver is supposed to reach towards the ball and snatch it in the air, not wait for it to hit him in the nose or let it get to where the defender can get a hand or hands on it.

What these "clips" do not show is the QB throwing the ball. It is possible Dak could not throw the ball lower or it would get tipped at the LOS. There was nothing wrong with that throw. Ferguson has to catch that ball. Putting it on Dak and not Ferguson is just silly. Sometimes QBs, all QBs, are off target a little. This pass was not that.

[CowboysFaninHouston]

I'm, twisting NOTHING.

Yes...he was running to his right. Which puts IN FRONT OF HIM...ot the right.

If he were standing still...you;d be correct. Stop..turn to the QB receive the ball IN FRONT.

That's not what happened.

You;re the one all twisted up.

Voting Ferg's fault isn;t good enough for 'you guys". I have to praise Dak to high heaven what an absolute perfect GEM of a throw it was.

SO you can kick and scream and cry...I'm not doing it. I can handle the truth.

That is all...done.

He was runnig from right to left.

I see this route every week, every game, every team. They practice this all the time.

Could the ball been slightly lower? Yes, but this is a very very very very very routine play in NFL. He had nobody in front of him. Defender was few feet behind him. He had no hands on him.

He dropped another easy pass run ing a route from left to right. So this was his second drop. He has had multiple drops this year.

But I get it, I really do. No matter what, even in the obvious cases you have to assign some fault to Dak. Its your nature. Its your mindset.

Its okay.

Enough of this ever analyzing a Si gle play.
Its now been over a week.

This play wasnt the only reason we lost. This team got whooped all night

It would seem some people just can't read.

There's 13 out of thousands of forum memberships...that voted not Fergs fault. I'm willing to bet SOME of them did so for funs.

13 people and we get these ranting lectures about Dak hate.

Talk about "driving their own heads up their..."

This is nuts.

Assuredly!

There we go...done!

I don’t see that at all. Just looks like he went up, half a foot or so, to high point the pass.

That’s only 2-3 inches higher than Angel Reese is able to jump.

When you see the OPs picture, he is facing the QB. He was running game right to left across the field, turned to catch the ball.

Could it have been 6 inches lower? Yes. But this is NFL. No QB throws perfect ball every time. Including mahomes. Some throw better ball than others more often. . It has to be catchable. This was catchable. Routine NFL play. It went right through his hands. He just didnt secure the ball. Now people are nit picking 6 inches....

[HungryLion]

aka, he was running a route across the field, he turned to catch the ball.

expectations are Dak runs down and puts the ball in his belly

and fergi promptly fumbles it.

Dude rhe whole “Ferguson had to turn his body” is the dumbest damn argument I’ve seen in a while.

How does an NFL receiver run downfield while also catching passes thrown from behind them.

Hmmmmm let’s see, at some point in their route, they TURN THEIR BODY

[Pokes12]

There is no scenario in which this is on the QB. I don't care if he shot it out of a t-shirt cannon and the ball was covered in KY. CATCH THE FOOTBALL.

It is incredibly hypocritical standards to say the throw is the problem. Saying that is just starting with "Dak sucks" and working backwards.

Dak does suck when faced with a playoff opponent. There is no dispute about that. In this case though, Ferguson should have caught the ball. It was squarely between his hands. It was not a difficult catch, even if it was thrown too hard or behind him. He is getting paid big bucks to catch the ball and not fumble. He does neither very well. He is the ultimate JAG.

I think Fergs would make a fine volley ball player.

In Women's Volleyball?

[HungryLion]

In Women's Volleyball?

He would fail at volleyball too. He lets the ball hit the ground far too much to succeed in volleyball

[DallasEast]

Automatic excuses for tight ends or wide receivers:

1. It is impossible to turn their body to catch a catchable pass
2. It is impossible to secure a catchable pass with two hands
3. It is impossible to get a hand or two hands on a difficult but catchable pass.

Jake Ferguson - average salary - $12.5 million (link)
Tommy Tremble - average salary - $5.25 million (link)

Maybe some fans' expectations for National Football League tight ends and wide receivers doing their primary job are higher than others.

H— of a catch right there.

Shocker. 4 of the people who voted no are on my ignore list.
