So after a relatively positive off-season, training camp, pre-season schedule, and now roster cuts (so far) what level of trust for this organization do you have?

High, medium, low or zero?

I voted LOW trust. I like some things I’ve seen this off-season. Like less drama, Caleb Downs, Chris Parker, the new defensive scheme. But for me it will take a lot more than a positive off-season to trust this organization.

I voted A knowing this wouldn't be a popular choice. I also know they are the Cowboys and I will eat my words and even possibly become a meme but I feel really good about the direction SHOTTY has them going. I capitalize this because Jerry is the one that could mess this all up but if they keep allowing Shotty to keep his vision of this team intact then think it might just lead us to good things.

The 30 year drought has made me a cynical and jaded fan lol

That said, I have seen some positive changes this offseason for the D, but they will have to earn everything on the field, especially in the playoffs

Has the culture truly changed, or is this gonna be more of the same with JJ still calling the shots? They have the opportunity to step up and do something this season:

— Capable vet QB and a returning top 5 Offense
— Bright, young, hungry DC
— Infusion of talent and leadership on D

The roster still has significant weaknesses:

— OT question marks and depth
— Red Zone inefficiencies fixed?
— Special Teams coverage units
— LB question marks
— CB depth
— RB depth
— TE

All in all, I think they have fielded a competitive roster and culture. Can they deliver in the big moments and get it done on the brightest stages?

I'll go B. I like what the coaches are doing. I like the coaching staff. I like most of the moves. I have some questions about the Jones trade. But, otherwise, I'm encouraged by what I'm seeing. Not really seeing a SB team yet, but I think they can make the NFCC if they stay healthy

I’m not here to squash fans optimism about this season but when I see predictions as such I’d like to know how they arrive at such conclusions in August?

Have they evaluated the rest of the conference in predicting we’ll make the NFCCG? So without seeing a single game they already know we have matched the Rams and Seahawks and everyone else in NFC?

Brian Schottenheimer has made strides attempting to change the franchise's culture. In my opinion, any organization's overall culture is measured by any-and-all internal influence throughout its structure, from top-to-bottom.

Jerry Jones' (and Stephen Jones' to a lesser degree) managerial role may have been minimized, perhaps to what some would defined as negligible. It is my belief something as small as simple verbal input from Jones, voiced directly to coaches and players or indirectly via social media, radio talk shows, etc., is detrimental to establishing full cultural change.

Full cultural change equals one top perceptional team leader or father figure. That distinction is usually held by the head coach in football. A total roster and staff philosophical buy-in is solely tied to him. No one else. There cannot be two cooks in the kitchen. And while Jones has sat himself down in dining room occasionally over the years, he has usually found himself right back at his own stove burning toast.

Kicking himself permanently and completely out of the kitchen would be the first beneficial assistance he could supplement Schottenheimer's goal. That has not happened yet. Three-plus decades of observation supports it never will.

I went with medium, Why? Because I have to be true to what I've always maintained "No one wins the Super Bowl every year, so what I want to see is the team be run like a professional football operation, where on the field results are the priority. If you do that consistently, the wins will follow"

This offseason we were "run" properly, so the results will follow. When? Nobody knows. But if we string a couple of offseasons like this together, we will win sooner, rather than later.

Dont think about such things. I am a Cowboy fan, almost definitely for life. I hope they go 20-0 every year and win all games 50-0
Meanwhile if there is something that needs to be changed in the organization I have no power to change ie "aint my problem"

Believe it or not, it’s actually making the playoffs 10 of 26 seasons. If you count from 2000-2025, it’s actually 26 seasons. So we’ve made the playoffs 38% of the time this century.

The 2026 season will be the 27th season this century because the 2000 season was year one of this century, 2001 was year two and so on.

It’s not the playoff % that grinds my gears as much as how we

I do think they'll be NFCCG. But I think it depends on the path. I think it depends on where we play the division round. I think the Rams get the 1 seed easily. I have them going about 15-2. I have us winning the division, and I see the NFC South being useless as usual. I think the Bears will win their division. So, the question will be, assuming we win the first round (as I think we should if we win the division), where do we play Chicago? If it's in Chicago, we might be screwed just because of the location. If it's in Dallas, I think we win against Chicago, in which case we go to the NFCCG. That's pretty much what it comes down to in my view.

Well said . And Schotty provides another puppet figure for Jethro.

I like some of the things Schotty is doing as well. Similar to how I felt with Garrett. They both seem to accept their role and the meddling and undermining which has deterred and derailed some of our other more credible HC’s .

I must say they have some great extreme analysis and instincts. Very gifted fans .

I wonder if their instincts and insight roll over into other aspects of life and business or just with the Cowboys?
