Poll: Who do you want to coach next year?

Jerry is content with his current role.

Wade is a good cordinator but a an average head coach.

Shanahan is overrated,he did squat post Elway.

Holmgren is wanting a GM role somewhere. He is the best of the retreads though.

Gruden is a guy that I can't sell myself on.He makes some weird situations worse.

Garrett is the leading candidate(IMO),a good showing from the offense in the next three games will solidify his status.

There are a few pro assistants out there that should be given consideration but they all have warts.I know how many warts Garrett has,I don't know how many warts these other guys have.

It would be a shocker if a college coach was brought in.

Cowher is another overrated coach that I can't see in Dallas.

I think Garrett will be in Dallas.Romo seems to be making better decisions with the ball as of late.I wouldn't want to change schemes just as he seems to be figuring things out with Garretts offense.

Jim Mora, if nothing else he'd make for some funny December collapse press conferences

why would you do that? you don't want that contingent to be able to vote for who they really don't? that makes the poll worthless?

well, at least you graced the poll thread with a comment, despite my failed poll.

;) :)

I did the same thing. Having Jerry on the list (it will never happen and everyone knows JJ will never coach) completly skews any seriousness this poll could ever hope for.

I also didn't vote.

If I was going to look at a college coach Gary Patterson of TCU is a guy I would be interested in.

That guy is a great coach.

So who are the under-45yo hotshot coordinators that we should know about?

Voted Garrett, but would welcome Cower as well. My concern in any case is who will the defensive coordinator be? Do we stay with a 3-4 which limits our options for a DC, or do we hire a 4-3 guy and draft some big DE's? Ware is definitely more suited for a 3-4 OLB. Not saying he couldn't play DE though; I'd never count him out.

I agree. He does not run some unorthodox offense and produces some very aggressive defense. Personally I hope this is all a moot point and the Cowboys go on and make a real run this season. If not though and I was looking for a young HC Gary Patterson would be very high on my list.

By the way I'm a Longhorns fans so this has nothing to do with some personal bias just extremely impressed by the job he has done for a good while at TCU

Wow.

Shocking where Garrett is at. He gets my vote simply for the Sean Payton factor.

Leslie Frazier (def. coordinator at Minnesota) should be on everyone's radar.

Sean McDermott (def. coordinator at Philly) will be getting some attention in the future.

I am a Leslie Frazier fan, but he's not under 45. He's 50. Just as Wade has helped us improve in sacks, Frazier would help us take the ball away, no doubt about that.

Eh..Leslie is a tampa-2 guy. He also has ideal personnel for his scheme, we are pretty far from what we'd need to run a successful tampa 2.

edit: he is a helluva coach though

I chose Shanahan, but I kind of want Jerry to coach the team. Maybe if he just coaches them for a year or 2 he will get it out of his system.
