BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Terrell Owens

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Greg Ellis

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Chris Canty, Marcus Spears, Bradie James (I can't put Watkins on there, he's just a rookie.)

GAMES:

BEST GAME TO WATCH: Carolina Panthers blowout

MOST CRUSHING GAME TO WATCH: Last Sunday (Freaking Gibbs! Skins are always in this category it seems! Last year's collapse was pretty darn painful too. :banghead: )

BILL PARCELLS BEST DECISION: ugh.... tough year for the Gipper... maybe to go out passing and playing aggressive in Romo's first start?

BILL PARCELLS WORST DECISION: Not to bench Bledsoe at the beginning of the season, or at least early. Not gameplanning enough playcalls to counter Philly's blitz heavy package when Bledsoe started? A lot of gripes his direction this year.

PREDICTED FINAL RECORD OF THE TEAM:9-7

PLAYER WHO WILL COME ON THE STRONGEST IN 2nd HALF: Terrell Owens (now that Romo is starting)

MVP: Tony..yes aready, with just one win..TR. It's not just that he's not costing us anything as he develops. Its that he's pure asset, no liability, and the sky's the limit.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: See above.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Bledsoe. We knew what he was, but he declined rapidly from even that.

DEFENSE:

MVP: Ferg. He's the key position among key positions, and has been mostly consistent..I am also surprised at his lateral movement this year. Looks purty spry, the fat old thing.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Ellis, who else?

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: These last two weeks my boy AH. And after Tuna paid him those big props as one of our two best on D. For shame, AH! I guess I could say he must be hurt, huh?

BILL PARCELLS WORST DECISION: What else, #9 not starting on opening day.

OFFENSE:

MVP: Terrell Owens. Julius Jones has been consistently good (except for one game), but when Owens is playing well, our offense is extremely good, bordering on unstoppable. He's more "valuable" in the sense that we need him to make an impact in games.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: The fact that Parcells benched Bledsoe in the sixth game of the season. Not that he shouldn't have, but I thought he'd stubbornly stick with Drew for as long as he could. (The most surprising player in a positive way, I suppose, would be Marc Colombo -- the field-goal fiasco notwithstanding.)

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: The fact that Bledsoe had to be benched. Again, not that it shouldn't have happened, but it did meant that the season wasn't starting well for the team. (The most disappointing player, then, would be Bledsoe. He had more weapons than last year and actually was being protected better than last year, and he looked poised for a big season, but he got off to a bad start with too many very costly turnovers.)

DEFENSE:

MVP: DeMarcus Ware. He has made big plays without making very many mistakes. Newman has been a shutdown corner for the most part, except for three or four plays. And Roy has made a ton of big plays, but he has allowed a few, too. So I'll go with Ware, who has been very solid against the run and in pass coverage while also being a better and more consistent pass-rusher than he was last season.

BIGGEST SURPRISE: Jason Ferguson. If he didn't play well, our run defense would have been in trouble because we don't really have a backup for him. But he has been a rock in almost every game (other than the Giants game).

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Patrick Watkins. Not that it wasn't somewhat expected for a fifth-round rookie to give up some big plays. But it could have been a big boost to find an immediate, longtime starter at free safety in the fifth-round of the draft, so to see him get benched after a few games was disappointing. At some point this season, I'd like to see how he would respond to getting another chance.

GAMES:

BEST GAME TO WATCH: Cowboys 35, Panthers 14. Down 14-0 on the road early, the offense puts up more than 400 yards in Romo's first start, Witten breaks out, the defense clamps down on Carolina's running game, Newman shuts down Steve Smith (again), Roy picks off Delhomme and we set a franchise record for points in a fourth quarter -- all on national TV.

MOST CRUSHING GAME TO WATCH: Philadelphia 38, Dallas 24. After leading at halftime in Philadelphia, we let the Eagles score on two fluke TD passes. Then our chance to tie in the final minute gets picked off and returned for a touchdown.

BILL PARCELLS BEST DECISION: Could be Romo -- time will tell how it works out. For now, I'll say starting Colombo at right tackle instead of Fabini or Petitti.

BILL PARCELLS WORST DECISION: Abandoning the run and letting Bledsoe throw at critical points against Jacksonville (before halftime), Philadelphia (at the goal line at the end) and the Giants (at the goal line before halftime).

SECOND HALF PREDICTIONS:

PREDICTED FINAL RECORD OF THE TEAM: Realistically, I'll say 9-7, but that could be good enough to make the playoffs. With small improvements here and there, that easily could be 10-6.

PLAYER WHO WILL COME ON THE STRONGEST IN 2nd HALF: Hopefully Romo, since our playoff hopes are riding on him.
