Man that is an incredible pace..I mean we r talking 2000 yds and 32 tds over a 16 game season
I didn't notice a big issue with it against the Packers. We have seen it in other games though.Thought pollard was good in pass protection against packers
I'm absolutely in favor of the balance of carries shifting more toward Pollard. I'm just saying there is value to using both.I wouldn't have such a problem with Zeke if they didn't continue giving him more reps than Pollard. Pollard was the better player last year as well. Zeke was hurt but they kept trotting him out there to get his 3 yards per carry.
Zeke would be a decent backup in this league. But he's paid and treated like a star. That just rubs people the wrong way.
As for his receiving, it seems like a wasted play whenever he is thrown the ball. I just looked it up and saw that he has 6 catches for 32 yards on the season, with 2 drops. It's so annoying when they line him up outside too. He could be covered by a defensive end.
I’d would have traded him before the deadline. Could have got something better to bolster the middle of the defense.Man that is an incredible pace..I mean we r talking 2000 yds and 32 tds over a 16 game season
Yes, but it's still only 5 carries, and late in the game against a tired defense. If you do the math Davis averaged over 7 yards per carry….with the 13 carries Zeke had Davis gets 91 yards to Zeke’s 81. Plus, Davis has the potential to break runs for big yardage. Zeke never breaks a run for more than 10-15 yards at most. As mentioned, the running game is less dynamic and effective with Zeke. But Jerry paid him and Jerry never makes a mistake.
Yep. Done us a lot of good since Zeke has gotten here considering we almost always lose to good teams.
You’re blaming that on Zeke? He may not be worth the money he’s getting paid, but he has a valuable role on this team. If we turned Pollard into an every down back like some of you want, he would be worn down by later in the season and be battling injuries. Most teams are using a two back system. Despite Pollards 115 yards rushing we just lost to a bad team. We need a punishing runner to go along with him that’s what led to a lot of Pollard’s long runs.
We do not need Zeke. Pretty obvious.
When you don;t know football. We do not need Zeke. Pretty obvious.
Since all the fools want to give zeke 10 carries...then cry because he isn't living up to the contract...Pollard > Zeke
Please cut Zeke and draft a RB in the 3rd!
Use Zeke's money and first 2 picks to fix the run defense and OL.
Yes, but it's still only 5 carries, and late in the game against a tired defense.
And it's only one game. Against the Bears he had 8 carries for 23 yards (2.9 yards per carry).
So, which is the norm for him? The likelihood is neither game is representative of what his norm would be. That's the problem with small sample sizes. There just isn't enough history to know.
As for potential to break bigger runs than Zeke, maybe that's true, but again, hard to judge on one game. He isn't faster than Zeke - he ran a poor time at his pro day - but I would certainly say it appears he has more quickness. Still, he is more in the same mold as Pollard - smaller and quicker - but there is value in a stronger bodied runner as well.
If Malik proves over the remainder of the season that he can be a strong #2, that would be terrific. It might allow us to move on from Zeke's contract. I just don't think we can really judge with confidence until we see more.
I agree, we would need to see more. I do think we have seen enough to conclude the Zeke’s days as a break away threat are behind him. If Zeke can pound for tough yards with a good ypc, that has a lot of value in the playoffs. If they get there. Oh, and any friend of Walt Garrison is a friend of mine
We need his blocking and tough inside running. He would’ve been very valuable to us in the fourth quarter on Sunday. Without Zeke, Pollard will be out of gas or injured by December.
Sign a fullback.
