If you are going to make horsecollar an illegal tackle, this one should be as wellThe Jones' need to put in to have that tackle included as a horse collar penalty. Same exact way just did it from the waist rather than the collar.
These tackles happen all the time. If you tackle someone from the side there are times your going to fall on their legs. Not sure how you can prevent that on occasion. If you are going to make horsecollar an illegal tackle, this one should be as well
Straight sissy. The Jones' need to put in to have that tackle included as a horse collar penalty. Same exact way just did it from the waist rather than the collar.
Soon to be flag football. I get player safety especially involving the head, but you get paid good money to play a kid’s game partly because of the risks that are associated with the job.No more tackles once the runner gets in front of you. You have to just let him go at that point. Is that what people are really wanting? We just keep making it harder and harder to play any form of defense.
Why do you get so hostile about this topic?Straight sissy.
Because it’s a basic tackle. Y’all whine about defensive players being flagged for merely breathing on a QB, but now you wanna take it further to position players. Why do you get so hostile about this topic?
This needs to be a penalty, it is no different than a horsecollar.
We saw two bad injuries from it in 4 games this past weekend.
It was a perfectly legal tackleI miss the days where teams feared our physicality. We do not have an enforcer. At one time....you do something like that to our team....you were going to have to see Roy Williams (safety) or Darren Woodson or James Washington. You were going to have to see Larry Allen or Erik Williams or Mark Tuenei or Kevin Gogan. Team did not want any smoke with those guys...so they kept it above board.
So was the horsecollar for like 75 years in the NFLIt was a perfectly legal tackle
I don’t see how you make it illegalBecause it’s a basic tackle. Y’all whine about defensive players being flagged for merely breathing on a QB, but now you wanna take it further to position players.
That same form of tackle is made 20x a game but doesn’t result in injury.
The horse-collar is fundamentally different because you’re pulling a guy from a higher fulcrum point down.
Jimmie Ward grabbed him by the waist and drug him down immediately. WHAT ELSE WAS HE SUPPOSED TO DO?
Here’s a thought. Instead of putting the onus on the defensive player, why don’t we have the ball carrier just give himself up after being touched?
We can call it “two-hand touch” football.
The original HC rule was very specific and very easy to enforce. This was a tackle from behind just like the many it just happened that there was an injury. It didn’t appear to me that there was any intention to injury anyoneSo was the horsecollar for like 75 years in the NFL
Ward needs to not drop on his legs. Sorry, that should be a penalty.Because it’s a basic tackle. Y’all whine about defensive players being flagged for merely breathing on a QB, but now you wanna take it further to position players.

Yeah, I'd do anything to avoid screws in my body“
Pollard underwent a "TightRope" procedure instead of a surgery that required screws into the tibia and fibula for a repair. In this procedure, a braided polyethylene cord, rather than a rigid surgical screw, is applied to restore the original position of the bones and to allow for proper healing.
Pollard should be at full strength well before training camp. Tua Tagovailoa underwent a similar surgery while at Alabama, and Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill also had the procedure recently. Pollard also suffered a fractured fibula but that will heal with time.”
How do you avoid falling on someone's legs when they are running away from you and you are behind them? PS. It's impossible. Double PS. Did you ever play tackle football?Ward needs to not drop on his legs. Sorry, that should be a penalty.
We don't need all of the protection on a QB, we should be able to hit runners as needed. Some of the defenseless wr stuff is too much.
Falling on legs, intentionally, needs to be a rule. I even said it in the game thread for Mahomes...it looked intentional to hurt him. Same with Pollard.
