I miss the days where teams feared our physicality. We do not have an enforcer. At one time....you do something like that to our team....you were going to have to see Roy Williams (safety) or Darren Woodson or James Washington. You were going to have to see Larry Allen or Erik Williams or Mark Tuenei or Kevin Gogan. Team did not want any smoke with those guys...so they kept it above board.
the remaining teams all have several enforcers. I agree. We need to draft very bad dudes. Micah and D. Wilson need help

Just as expected, you don’t have a clue of what you’re talking about.

How was Ward, chasing down a ball carrier at full speed supposed to “pick him up and suplex him?”

This is really about a faction of our fanbase whining because they knew Pollard was a huge part of our chance winning against the 49ers. He unfortunately got hurt playing football and now the Hurt Feelings Crew is out in force claiming the tackle was dirty and wanting to change rules.
Ya no clue.

Not an issue at all.

But let's penalize a slap to the qbs head.

I just watched a video/podcast of a group of former NFL players including a fellow Memphis alum. I can’t post it here because it has a bunch of cursing throughout it.

They specifically were addressing whether the Pollard tackle was “dirty” because they were getting a ton of comments from listeners. They all were incredulous that folks would even say suggest such a thing.

Lool? What are these videos supposed to be addressing? Each of these are different in its own right. In the Deebo video for example, how is the defender supposed to bring him down? It’s unfortunate Deebo ankle got up.

Football is a physical sport. The very nature of tackling is violent; you’re trying bring people to a stop by bringing them to the ground.

Again, all this lamenting is so comically misguided. If you really want to take out the risk of injury then you should change the rules by forcing the ball carrier to give up once he’s touched.

Yeah, I wouldn't even begin to suggest it's dirty. Whether it should be illegal is another matter however.

I don't think this is hard to mitigate. You just can't drop your weight on a players legs while engaged in a tackle from behind. I don't think that is too much to officiate either.

SF had two incidents of it this year with Jimmy and Deebo.

KC nearly had their season ended by it if it was a little higher.

Dallas was severely impacted by Pollards injury and a whole season was ruined two years ago.

I didn't even put much research into it but there are more in recent time.

These tackles happen all the time. If you tackle someone from the side there are times your going to fall on their legs. Not sure how you can prevent that on occasion.
There is a big difference between "falling" on a ball carrier's legs...and "throwing" your body intentionally into a ball carrier's legs. This type of cattle wrestling "tackle" needs to be permanently banned. It's what got Hurd, Dak and now Pollard's legs/feet badly injured. Serious potential career ending injuries.

Grabbing someone by the shoulders and dropping all your weight on their trailing feet is not the only way to tackle from that angle. I never see the cowboys tackle that way. I do always see Eagles, Seahawks and Niners DBs tackle that way in many games leading to many broken legs and ankles

That style became popular due to the modern tackling rules.
