A RD2 comp pick in 2024.

I know what he did this yr was great, but unless he has Adrian Petersons DNA he's not going to be the same next yr. For me what makes this a easier want than most is Robinson and Gibbs. You get any of these 2 and you filled that hole, and you get 4 yrs on the rookie deal, and the 5th yr option. Then you can repeat if the production doesn't justify.
No such thing as an RD2 comp pick.

Luuulz, his fractured his fibula. It didn’t even require screws.

Folks act like he tore all three knee ligaments.

Larry Allen was selected in the 2nd round at pick #46. That is not a comp pick selection. You can google comp pick rules and it will show you that the comp picks start at the end of round 3. This year they start with pick #96 since the Dolphins had to forfeit their 1st round pick for tampering. Christian Kirk is projected to get the Arizona Cardinals the first comp pick this year at pick #96. Kirk signed a 4 year $72 million contract at $16 million per year. Pollard won't sniff anything near that.

From a Q & A on Comp picks from the NFL Rule website

In which rounds are picks awarded?

Compensatory picks are awarded starting at the end of the third round through the seventh round.
They had odd rules in 94 and 95. The 1st year of true free agency was 93.

The highest comp picks are at the end of Round 3. Round 2 comp picks don't exist. He may net a 5th round comp pick.

We are projected to get a 5th round comp pick for Randy Gregory and Connor Williams for 2023 and a 6th round pick for Cedric Wilson.
Stop making sense.

Other teams HAVE to do what we want them to do, and accept any trades for bad players we offer.

The NFL MUST create Rd2 comp picks, just for us, and give them to us for anyone we want.

Maher SUCKED in the playoffs and was an all time choker. I don't want him on this team any more. I think we should trade him to the Bears for their 2nd and 3rd rounders.

Pollard is likely going to get 12 million a year max, which would likely net a 4th or 5th

A round 2 pick? You are dreaming. Those comp picks are based on the new salary. Pollard is not getting a huge contract from anyone. Let Pollard walk; draft a RB. Use the money on FA WR and DT.

NO........ No no no no no no no no.

That would imply drafting a back in the 1st round which is the ultimate waste of draft capital.

Look at the Chiefs after they won the super bowl they went out and drafted a very average running back with the 32 overall pick when multiple pro bowlers at other (much more valuable) positions were on the table.
You can’t compare CEH to Robinson. Like at all.

At pick 26 its a steal we need playmaker and the kid is a playmaker
Drafting at #26, we are already looking at all 2nd round prospects to begin with. I’m with you on drafting Bijon. He’s not only the best RB in the country, but most say he’s the best in several years, and he’s a great receiving threat. The reason you take him at the bottom of round 1 is because that gives you his rights for 5 years. If you run his wheels off in 5 years as a stud RB, you then move on. No second contracts for starting RBs, so secure them for the extra year. He’s considered by many as a top 10 talent in this draft.

keeping Zeke is just wasting valuable roster space. His production is not NFL level anymore. His speed and power are gone. We all saw him leave lots of yards out on the field because his vision and speed have disappeared. That carry near the goal line is a perfect example. Instead of bouncing it outside for a sure TD, he just barreled ahead into the line for zero gain.

I said it in another thread that if there was a way to measure WAR like they have in baseball (Wins Above Replacement), Zeke's WAR number would be negative. Any NFL level back can give you 2.9 yards and a cloud of dust.

Zeke was great for Dallas for a few years. Once he held out and signed that fat contract, he hasn't lived up to the money he got, and now he's costing the team valuable yards.

As someone said earlier, rip that bandaid off. Wince at the pain for one year on the cap hit, but he's gotta go.
Agreed, I don’t care if he plays for vet minimum. He gives us nothing.

Id prefer we draft OL, WR, DL, LB, before rb in round 1. Maybe round 2 or 3 but not 1. Decent backs arent expensive.

Highest round is 3.

Uninjured, I doubt that Pollard would have brought a 3rd. Now coming off a serious injury to his wheels, maybe a 5th.

Franchise Pollard.
Draft a RB. The class is very deep you don't need to draft Robinson or Gibbs.
Pollard is a Playmaker meaning he can impact the run and passing game, but some don't know cause Kellen didn't use him properly.
One deep ball to the fastest player on the offense. 60 yard td. Never tried before that, or since.
We're the worst.

I used to be all for franchising Pollard, but with the injury I'm now against it. Trouble is I don't think we'll know about his health until after we have to decide about the tag.

I'd draft 2 RBs this year. Zeke gone and Pollard likely gone at least by 2024. Try to get a couple of guys to compete for the starting slot and develop through the year. Pollard needs some rotation. Take 2 shots at that, 3rd round and later.

Na I'd tell him 2 mil base with incentives, say a mil for 800 yrds another mil for 10 tds.
If Zeke here we'll play him too much. Like we've done for years now. He'll eat a RB roster spot and snaps.
At this point, because we won't treat him as his performance merits, he'd be a net negative if he came free. Just move on.
