After struggling so badly last year and much of this year, as of late Pollard seems like he could be coming on as a kick returner,.. and a lethal potent game changing KR at that.

- If he continues as such, he is gonna be an extra weapon that teams will have to contend with,. an Cordell Patterson type that teams will be fear-forced to try to kick away from, ..that ends up with the ball
curving and bouncing outta bounds for killer field position penalties.

I admit that I was one that was mistakenly pleading for special teams coach Bones Fassel to take away that KR role away from Pollard because he would continue to make disastrous decisions and mishandling of the ball that would just kill us in poor starting field position.
He'd either muff the ball, or oddly run the ball deep outta the end zone, wasn't following proper blocking sets and get killed at the 10 yrd line,..

Not just one occasional bad game,.. but seemingly on virtually an every week basis.. ..it got to a point if we should’ve turned to Cedric Wilson or Rico Dwindle instead.

- Pollard the last 2 games has ripped off two huge 60+ yarders vs Ravens and Bengals … I believe he had another previous big kick return but I forget the game and vs the team

- In college Pollard was a huge prime time kick returner with I believe 7 TDs off kick returns.

As of late, his decision making and ball handling has vastly improved, the blocking is there for him, and he’s gaining a sense and feel for running lanes at the NFL level.
Only a matter of time before he breaks it for TDs.
All indications the way it’s currently going, I was wrong for wanting to bench Pollard on kick returns

we have needed someone who at least makes the other team pay attention for so long it seems like forever. i have been really disappointed in his return duties as he was so good in college. I blame some of that on the previous coaching philosophy. hope he will become a weapon in that area.

I have no issue with Pollard, but I I would use Wilson on kick returns....probably on punts also.

I cringe every time Lamb is staring up at the ball and two dudes he cant see are flying toward him.

Yes he was very explosive in college.

I wish they would try to get him the ball in space more than they do.

Tough to consider the guy a disappointment overall though. But I agree that I expected a bit more.

Pollard is about as "lethal" as it gets. He's t-3 in returns of over 40 yards, with 3. There are only 6 players in the league with more than one.

After Cordarrelle Patterson, KRs are all basically the same.

Not me when it comes to Wilson over Pollard.
I only thought of Cedric replacing Pollard because he'd be a 'safe-ball security" type than the disaster Pollard was previously at.

In fact I see Wilson as more Cole Beasley like type on returns.
He just isn't nearly as top end fast and explosive as Pollard is.

i'm not sure how top end explosive Lamb is as a punt returner but I'm gonna wait to see how it turns out on Lamb
as he becomes more adjusted and comfortable on punt returns at the NFL level.

It helps when the other ST's unit also finally gets it, and do their assignments in blocking.

Pollard makes some poor decisions still more that not.
I will not be fooled by 2 good return out of how many bone headed ones.

But it was sure nice to see them for a change. Let's see how he chooses from here on out with help from good blocking.

He's a generational player. Just enjoy the time we have with him.

Lethal is probably too strong of a word. He is only avg 24.5 ypr even after his two big returns. That ain't helping us with field position when he takes the kick a couple yards deep in the end zone and brings it out.

I think Pollard returning the ball from the end zone at times is on Fassel, because it fits his aggressive mentality. I believe what has happened fits exactly what Fassel felt would happen, we'd have a bunch of returns that would be stopped before the 25-yard line but Pollard would break a few. Fassel is the type who believes failures are worth the risk because taking chances eventually pays off.

So essentially no matter who was back there returning kicks, Fassel was going to want them to actually return them. (I think Rico Dowdle was back there for one kickoff and returned it.)

I do agree that both the blocking and Pollard seem to have improved, but I guess that should have been expected as the unit got more and more practice doing it.

I think our blocking has to improve. Last week Armstrong literally couldn’t figure out who to block which led to Pollard getting tackled.

Our fans are bipolar, a few weeks ago he was horrible and needed to be replaced and now HES Awesome lol smh

..thats the feeling I got when Beasley was standing there waiting for the ball.

So how many 1st round picks can we get?

Fassel coaches the game like an aggressive play caller on offense and defense. I love it. ST’s around here have been an afterthought for a decade that contributed nothing to the game. Fair Catch Beas and take the ball at the 25 every time. Not one blocked punt etc. So glad JG is gone.

Pollard has no late gear he gets to top speed fast but no break away...we can do better in the draft with a solid KR guy imo
