Ok..

With all this time on my hands..

I have been going over our new draft picks and ran across this video..

it started me thinking..

and we know how dangerous that can get..

I'm an Aquarian..so shoot me.

We ask alot of questions.

Pollard was a huge surprise to me. Sort of like Kamara with NO.

A. Multi-bladed knife that can slice and dice.

I am wondering how are we going to use him now that we have seen him?

Zeke is probably not going to want to sit while he plays knowing Zeke.

He has to eat early and often.

But Pollard seems to get better with increased carries.

How do we do it?

2 back attack

Motion out of the backfield

Screens

Jet sweeps

HB passes

What do you guys see?

How many touches will he get?

Over to you.

I can watch this all day.

Pollard is just the back up and an excellent one at that. With Lamb being drafted that limits his potential role as a (slot) receiver as well.

Zeke hasn't missed a game through injury as far as I'm aware and the guy is immense regardless of what people claim.

Unless we are offered a second rounder for Pollard he's just worth keeping as the back up for the next two years. Then look to trade him maybe for a 3rd rounder by that point.

I could see Pillard being the preferred back for 4WR formations.

Man his start, stop, and start again is impressive.
I could see some team losing their RB to injury early and calling us to offer a first and Jerry bites....hope not, but I could see it.

I don’t see Pollard eating early and often, not with Zeke and all the weapons we have at receiver. Zeke is being paid to eat early and often so Pollard will have to make the most of his opportunities.

The guy should get a lot of playing time. Exactly how that happens might be a bit of a head scratcher, but I expect to see him out there.

Pollard is a dynamic skill player 1st and our backup RB 2nd.

The Cowboys need to figure out different ways to make him effective in our offense because he is one of the few explosive players this team has.

The guy can play some wideout in a pinch too.

Be creative with this player and just get him in space.

He needs to be a bigger kick return threat. I know that much
Return rules limit big returns.

Kind of makes me wish we hadn't paid Zeke. Could have traded him.

But what's done is done.

Pollard isn’t close to the back is Zeke is. Get real! He’s quicker and shiftier but he would never be able to produce as an every down back. On a critical third and one against Philly late last season he took a loss. He can’t push the pile. He makes one long one in mop up duty against a Rams team that had given up and all of a sudden some think he’s better than Zeke. Lol

Last year it was roughly an 80-20 split for carries with Zeke vs Pollard. I could see a 70-30 split but not much more. Zeke is a no.1 and I think should be used as one.

OMG!!! Redass with a thread not hating on Dak! OMG!!

I think MM & staff will find the best possible ways for Pollard to be a success. He's been more than able to manage that in the past. :D

That's what I wanted last year, with Pollard as the primary player going in motion each play, from slot to HB to jet sweep. Multi runthreat offense.

I think Lamb pushes Pollard off the field. Lamb could even take Pollard's jet sweep calls.

Unless ... McCarthy goes *all* threat, with Zeke, Pollard, Lamb, Gallup, and Cooper. So much speed. So many runners. And you can add Dak to that.

That's the Ant-Garrett. Garrett luvved him sum putting blockers at the skill positions. Dead weight in terms of threat.

Between McCarthy's spreading the field, and Moore with the misdirection, maybe? Sure would be fun.

I could see Pillard being the preferred back for 4WR formations.

The full track team - Pollard, Gallup, Cooper, Lamb, Smith.

Could have done a similar thing with Austin in place of Lamb last year.

RB, WR, WR, WR, RB/WR. The speed team promotes Pollard to RB and moves in Austin to backfill him at RB/WR.

But with so much speed forcing DBs onto the field, it's nice to have the big back to run over the smaller and spread out defense. Basic principle of Run and Gun and a Coryell Offense.

I'm sure

that Garrett's

lack of innovative skills

limited Pollard

quite a bit.

They didnt

seem to find

ways to get

him the ball

at all last year

Hope new staff

does better.
Yeah..

What always used to rub me THE wrong way.

Our staff just had no ability to make adjustments.

Football..which really is simulated combat..

can not count on your opponent being the same all the time.

Your opponent is going to do something else.

Be ready.

We never were. We just gave Zeke the ball and hoped we were better.

Does not work like that.

Yeah..

In our minds we shake and bake and like fireworks.

Don Coryell retired decades ago.

Too bad for us.

I just do not know if Big Mike has the command of this team yet to make an all out attack be our calling card...

I wish..I wish.
