Anyone who needs a top receiver? Eagles did it with AJ Brown. He got the 2022 contract version of the the numbers you quoted for 2027. Tyreek Hill the same year was traded for even a bigger haul and signed an even bigger contract.

If you recall, Jerry dragged his feet deciding on whether to keep Mike McCarthy. By the time he decided to fire him, Ben Johnson , Aaron Glen, and Mike Vrabel already had jobs. So, Shotty was the easiest , most comfortable path forward at that point. It was a lazy hire.

I remember, but I also know Jerry was never going to hire any of those 3. Jerry prefers to be comfortable.

We have no idea who Jerry would have considered. He never said " i'm not hiring Ben Johnson". All we know is that the 3 top head coaching prospects were off the table. Shotty was on nobody's short list to fill a head coaching vacancy.
