Oh, so his 4.37 is his only actual time. Thanks, I didn't know that.

So he's probably in the low-4.4 range although he may have improved his speed since he's been in the league working out as a pro.

Yes, a lot of people think those high/low numbers are measured, but they're just early estimates that they put up.

We know that the TE Butt didn't run, but they have numbers up for him.

I'm not wrong at all. If you see 4.37, by all means. I see a 4.6 guy on game day

They don't come up with those numbers by "eyeballing" it. You should be a cop because you could save tax payers money on radar guns. They could just have to look at cars you know how fast they're going.

i cannot think of more than 10 and that includes 2 injury risks (dlaw, tapper) and 1 mental risk (moore)
right injuries may rule the day.
DL: taco, dlaw (injury-risk), mayowa, collins, thornton, tcrawford, paea, tapper (injury-risk), irving, moore (mental-risk)

i cannot think of more than 6 LBs
jaylon, lee, wilson, hitchens, nacho, wilber
the fb would be the emergency backup and no LB was drafted

Marinelli was super excited when they drafted Ivie. if everyone stays healthy and Moore is a good citizen, then Ivie would be #11.

Something almost always happens that makes it a non-issue. Somebody could get dinged up an go on the PUP to start the season or any number of things. I guess DLaw is possible to start there anyway.

95 DL Irving, David
98 DL Crawford, Tyrone

97 DE Charlton, Taco
93 DE Mayowa, Benson
99 DE Tapper, Charles
90 DE Lawrence, Demarcus
58 DE Moore, Damontre

76 DE Ash, Richard
66 DE Jones, Lenny

96 DT Collins, Maliek
92 DT Thornton, Cedric
55 DT Paea, Stephen

74 DT Ivie, Joey
69 DT Carrell, Jordan

I think he doesn't look fast to you because that's the only trick he has. There's not enough difference between a wide receiver's speed and a corner's speed to beat them simply by running by them. In fact, most of the time, the DBs are faster.

Dez gains separation primarily by being more physical than the DBs covering him. Williams gains separation mainly through his route-running. Butler too often tries to just run by or away from DBs and they either just turn and run with him or body him to slow him down. He has to be able to sell his routes in order to get them to gear down or bite and let him get the edge in a foot race.

Only reason I brought up Rice was cause he was the best route runner in history, I do agree with you on Dez, but Williams isn't consistent enough with it to be open alot. It shows when Dez isn't on the field. Beasley is easily the best route runner on our team.

My main problem with Butler is he actually has talent, he just doesn't appear to put in the work on the details of the position. Some people, it just doesn't mean enough. Desean Jackson ran a 4.35, there is no way him and Butler look near the same speed on the field.

Mike Wallace 4.33, quote: “I’ve probably run about 10,000 post-routes and go-routes since when I first came into the league, so [I’ve lost] maybe just a step, a half a step,” Wallace said. “But I can still get it done.”

Problem with Butler is, he has never actually gotten anything done.

agreed we always have at least 1 injury (knock on wood, reverse hex)
would be happy to get anything out of dlaw this year after the 2nd back surgery...

Well, part of the problem with not looking the same on the field is that Butler is a long guy who takes big steps while Jackson is a rabbit. Most taller runners don't have the same kind of takeoff as the shorter guys. They make up ground with their long strides. Plus, they can't take the quick little steps when shifting gears. ... So the main point of that is that they are not going to look like they are going the same speed.

However, the other part of what you say, about putting in the work, definitely also plays a role. When you work on popping out of your breaks while losing as little speed as possible, it stresses coverage because the DB can't just sit on the deep route and negate your speed. Why so many speed guys don't succeed is because they can't do the little things that allow them to maximize their speed.

Good riddance. I like him as a person, but I don't like his game.

The WR lock depth chart, for me, is Bryant, Williams, Beasley, and Switzer.

We'll most likely carry 5. Whitehead won't make it. It'll come down to Noah Brown trying to beat out Brice Butler, and I expect Noah Brown to do it.

I would have liked to see Williams replaced but that didnt happen this year. I think Brown will be on the practice squad and butler will make it.
