What position has the biggest chance for a Lamb type slide to 26? Gotta be Edge for me.

Anderson
Wilson
N. Smith
Murphy
Van Ness
McDonald

That's 6 legit 1st round edge rushers. Here's how many Edge rushers went before pick 26 the last 3 drafts:

2022 - 3
2021 - 3
2020 - 2

I'm feeling really confident that 1 if not 2 of these guys will be available when we pick.

Murphy's a name that never gets mentioned on CZ. How do you feel about him Cnu?
Big fan. I think him and Van Ness are fairly similar in that you’re getting an a monster sized uber athletic ball of clay to develop.

I think both give you above average run D day 1 and have the traits to become pro bowl caliber DEs.

I know all 32 teams were at Clemsons pro day I just don’t know if we’re interested in him. Do believe DQ worked out Van Ness at his pro day.

Depending on who else is on the board, and with possibly the only exception being McDonald, if any of them are there at 26 you almost have to take him. Here's a fun exercise; who wouldn't you pass on for any of those DE's?

I'd say Anderson and Wilson would be unpassable at 26 regardless of who else is there. The next 3 DE's on the list it would be debated hard about taking over Paris, Skronski, Gonzo, Spoon, Wright or JNS. I'd personally lean towards one of the OTs, but it would be a tough debate that I may not be able to win. You don't get a chance at premier DEs often.

Yea - I agree. It’s really hard for me to think of a player I’d take over anyone from that list.

Pick any player on there and call them edge 6 and I’d likely take them over any WR, TE, RB or G in this class.

MAYBE if Porter or Darnell Wright slide you can have a discussion but don’t see that as realistic and I DO think 1 / 2 Edge players will be available. I have Flowers as my WR1 but think the Pats take him and he’s gone in the top 20.

What you think about him?

I agree with the book on him. Top-end athlete who's super raw.

Measurables play on the edge though. Murphy's got the juice to speed-rush and turn the corner, and there usually aren't 5 guys who can do that in an average draft class, so he's worth a high draft pick almost automatically.

Don't know where he will end up this year, because there are so many other super-talented pass rushers.

I just can’t see a scenario where one of these Edge guys ain’t available at 26…I’m just worried we’ll pass them for like a Mayer or G.

Edge would be my bet followed by CB. I can see a small possibility that both Porter and Forbes are available

If they have a 1st round grade on anyone available at 26 they better grab him.

Yeah, Edge and CB just have more numbers...teams may feel they can wait in some cases. Brian Branch may be staring at the Cowboys at 26 and he's a Slot CB/S.
McDonald, Porter Jr., Sanders or Branch...Defense should be in play .

Agree. Just the sheer numbers between those groups will push a stud down.

Ex - Edge 6 is probably going to be a better player than WR 2/3 for me.
