Position Most Likely to Slide to 26

The positions Dallas wants have lots of depth where good players will be available in later rounds.
A lot of the guys being discussed at 26 seem like reaches.

I hope this plays out one of two ways:
- Someone unexpected drops and Dallas snags them, regardless of need
- Dallas trades back.
Bullet number 1 is happening! Question is will Cowboys actually take that player or reach for need?

McDonald would be scary with Parsons.

Porter Jr, Forbes, both are becoming my favorite dream picks. Both would be legit day one starters opposite of Diggs. (Also Gilmore is only on a one year deal, Diggs contract is up next year, jourdan lewis is a slot guy, and bossman fat is in the studio mixing his next record). I love Ringo also but in the 2nd.

Drew Sanders being a Denton native and Arkansas Alum is probably Jerry's Pet Cat.

Branch would be fun because he's legit the only true good safety in this draft and I've always wanted safety and we never draft safety. I think Branch will be off the board but people always undervalue safety.
I don't even think he'd the best safety.

I think the best safety is Antonio Johnson.

I hear we luv Van Ness. Mike McCarthy is loving his size. I guess it gives us a Bosa type guy at edge. Not a sexy name at 26 but I can see it.
I like that dude too. But do we need to go edge? I'm hoping we're one of the best teams in the NFC this year, I want someone that has an immediate impact now. Drafting edge to me seems like just adding to the rotation. If we can add a sasquatch OL, a WR in the 2nd, and a RB in the 3rd, that would have the most impact this year.

Yes, less risk for Edge6 vs WR3.
Depends how you rank them. McDonald, for instance, is probably more risky than, say, Jalin Hyatt.

Hyatt is always going to be effective, in some sense, because of his speed, and has a chance to develop a bit more physically. McDonald will be a 24 yr old rookie who basically has to hit right away.

Huge fan…in a less loaded class he’d likely be a late 1st rounder.
Still might be,, IMO.

He's about as bust proof as it gets.

I have three players on my list that will not bust: John Michael Smitz, Felix Anudike, and Jack Campbelll.

All safe picks. All could start day 1 and improve your team.

If we get just one of those players i'll be stoked.

If it’s the best player absolutely. Especially considering not all rookies come in and are good starters year 1.

Could be. Some other names to watch would be Hall and Anudike who are violent and heavy handed dudes I really like…just not as highly rated but great players.
Man I luv Hall and that Kstate kid. I agree. They are big heavy handed and physical. I wouldnt be mad at all if we got 1 of them.

Yea, would love to see us grab a DE in rounds 1 or 2. Just think a really good player will be there.

Love the players.

But don’t think they will help us win in SF in the playoffs as depth players next season.
I don’t think you can count on a rookie or 2 to get you over the hump in the playoffs. Feel like the draft focus is too narrow there and you risk missing out on top talent.

I’m counting on the addition of Cooks / Gilmore, a healthy TP / OL and the continued development of the rest of our younger players to hopefully help us go further.

Well I absolutely freaking hate being the I told you so guy but here we are…2 top 20 Edge rushers fall and we reach for need instead. Not to mention Porter in the board.

I don’t recall you saying we’d get the 14th guy on our board and I wouldn’t consider that a reach for need like you’ve suggested.

You’re calling it a reach but Jerry has categorically stated the front office rated him far higher than he was taken.

I actually did make a joke yesterday if we reached for need that Jerry would say that it was the last 1st rounder on our board so I was pretty close.

Did he say 14? Lol.

You, out of all people must be really upset they passed on Nolan Smith. I like him too, but there has to be a reason why he fell to the end of the round. Is it something about his medicals?

Who knows…but if that’s the case freaking take Murphy or Porter.

It’s all good - the Cowboys don’t surprise me any more.

I’ll be kissed if they force a TE in round 2 if another stud slides though lol.

Taking the TE on day 2, makes far more sense than it was at 26, although I think both Kincaid/Mayer were worth the pick due to the poor receiving class.
