Position QB

My guess is they like dinucci as a development project a lot more than what fans do. They had plenty of picks in this draft to use a mid round pick on a development qb for. Obviously he isn’t the backup in 2021, but has some attributes that are tough to find....also has some skills that are tough to develop, but I’ll trust McCarthy/Moore on that one.

That’s all just your speculation concerning Dak not being mobile anymore and Zeke not being a threat. And the chances great that you’ll be wrong on both accounts.

1,413 career carries and just four runs of 40+ yards or more, with three of those coming in 2016.

There is no speculation. That’s a demonstrated track record.

...and you missed the Cowboys/Steeler game in 2020? You totally ignored how good Garrett played in that game. You don't seem interested in giving him a fair shake. His past is his past and there is nothing he can do about that. All I know is since he has been a Cowboy he has been the perfect backup QB and we should recognize this and give him a fair shot at keeping that job.
I saw every down of that game. He was 21-38 for 244 yds, 1 td, 1 pick. He was pretty good. Not as good as many seem to think. I’m just not sold that Gilbert is our best option yet. Maybe come Sept he will be but I’m not sold on GG yet.

Doesn't have to have 40+ yard runs to be effective. Emmitt was never a break away back either and look how effective he was. that's no speculation. That’s a demonstrated track record.

I'm hoping you give him a fair shake. You'll be seeing him in the preseason games. Go figure our next opponent will be the same team we've already seen him compete against.

By Sept, I actually believe we will have a backup QB that is not currently on the roster. I’m not sold on any of the backup guys currently on the roster. There’s a reason Garrett Gilbert is 32 years old and been with so many different teams before. I would much rather have a younger guy with some upside serving as the backup.
I'd rather have a veteran backup who can step in right away and knows what a blitz feels like.

I'm stunned by the direction this thread is taking.
