Position Review-Cornerback

That would not be smart. Drafting WR in round one with all the holes on defense.
You do realize that you can't fill all the holes with 2 first round picks?

It needs to be done in FA.

Pretty sure trading Pickens for a proven DE like Crosby is a better option than drafting a DE.

Crosby would immediately make everyone's job significantly easier.

WR is a premium position, so drafting verses paying for it would be extremely smart.

Bowles will probably make the playoffs with Tampa. They play Carolina at home the last week of the season. I doubt if he would want to be a defensive coordinator again even if Tampa let him go. Bowles is a good coach and I doubt he would want to be under Schotty when he knows he is the better coach.
You could say the same thing about Quinn after he was fired by the falcons. Failed hc’s don’t get another hc job right away.

Jerry is gonna have to pay Bowles more than Schotty. Can’t see that happening.

Like I said, these failed hc’s will accept a demotion and pay decrease to stay in the game and hope for another chance for a HC job down the road. Schwartz is another one in this category

We need a young coach but yeah Jerry wants an old football coach that reminds him of the good ole days. Not a fan of Schwartz. Cleveland’s defense is loaded and every time I see them play a good team they get pushed around. We would be Super Bowl favorites with Cleveland’s defensive talent.

The reason why the browns are bad isn’t their defense, their offense is one of the worst in the entire league

If im counting the eye test every single one of them gets an F-

If i factor in no pass rush, injuries, the horrid play calling from the DC, the scheme that seems like it was drawn up in crayon 20 minutes before the game

C-

Letting Jordan Lewis walk hurt the team
That was disappointing to me as I always liked Jordan Lewis and saw his progression as seasons came and went and he found a role as our nickel a solid nickel who would tackle and was a dawg.

In Maryland we get more of the Browns games than most of the nation. San Francisco and Chicago exposed their defensive coordinator. We need a defensive mastermind that can hold up against Johnson, McVay, Shanahan, etc….. The real issue with Eberflus is that he got embarrassed by the NFC North repeatedly. That is a division he is supposed to know. We gave up 30+ in every game we played against that division.

Eberflus is a disaster, we all know this. Flores remains my number 1, but not sure if we could get him

Revel - He is still a young pup and didn't get a full training camp. There is still time for him to become an NFL CB.
Bland - Definitely a down year, but we found out he has been playing with a hurt foot. Hopefully he can rebound.
Everybody else - Meh

With that said, yes, having some pass rush and overall better talent on the defensive side of the ball would help the CBs a lot. That and a new DC. I missed getting turnovers this season. It feels like a lifetime ago when the team had 26 picks and Diggs snagged 11 of them by himself.
