In my opinion Parcells won't take Centers/Gaurds/FS/SS/FB/TE/Kickers/Punters in the first round and also WR, unless the WR is very talented like Randy Moss. All other positions QB/RB/OT/DL/LB/CB are good first round value and based on our need this year, we could say OT, LB, DT will be our pick.

What's the deal on Peterman? We spent a 3rd on him. Has he even smelled the field yet?

Let's not draft more OG's until we know what we have first. This is Peterman's 3rd year. Can he, or can he NOT play???

The fact that Gurode was the guy called upon to fill in for Rivera late last year has to be a huge blow against Peterman. The excuse at the time was Gurode would be the backup at center to Johnson who was coming off the knee injury. If we really wanted to we could have dressed 8 OL and had Peterman start with Gurode as backup OG/C.

I think it is fine to have hope for the kid but he has never really shown much on the field and he flat out looks pregnant. I think the kid has bust written all over him. He needs to start taking his conditioning seriously if he wants to succeed.

actually parcells has repeated over and over Peterman is playing LG. Not RG. Just LG. He is Larry's eventual replacement.

last i checked vernon carey started 14 games at RT this year.

that's nice -- but waiting a year for a guy picked that high is just unacceptable.

tell me -- would you be satisfied if we drafted say Marcus McNeil at 18 and he couldn't break into the starting OL as a rookie?

he's also stated that he "thinks he's got a player in Peterman"

If thats the way you feel, trade down. We could still take a postion of need without reaching for a player. If we trade into the 30th pick, Guilles and McNeil would be ideal picks. With the extra 2nd we could take a OLB or another linemen.

I'd be fine with that -- if we weren't passing over a true impact guy (more likely LB or WR).

But lets remember -- the higher up you pick the better your chance of success -- the trade down mentality worked great for Jimmy -- because he was building a speed defense around players that other teams didn't really want -- he got talented guys who dropped b/c they didn't fit the more common systems in place at the time.
