Camden Brown is making a statement. Two touchdowns, including a spectacular 39-yard one-handed catch. He’s easily one of the biggest winners of the night.
The backup QB competition looks interesting. Sam Howell threw the 39-yard TD to Brown, and Joe Milton followed with another scoring drive. Both have shown some things to like.
The offense has sustained drives. Dallas put together scoring drives of 74, 65 and 84 yards, including an impressive 13-play, 84-yard TD drive.
The defense settled down after the opening drive. Seattle's opening TD came on a 13-play, 80-yard drive, but Dallas has shut them out since.
James Houston made a play. He recorded a sack of Jalen Milroe, which is exactly the kind of splash play he needs in this competition.
Negatives
The opening defensive series was ugly. Seattle went 80 yards in more than seven minutes and scored a TD, with Dallas also committing two penalties on the drive.
Penalties are worth watching. Giving Seattle free yardage on that opening possession is exactly the kind of thing that can become a bigger issue once the regular season starts.
It's difficult to evaluate the defense against Seattle's backups. The second half has been more encouraging, but we shouldn't overreact to a preseason performance against players fighting for roster spots.
The offensive line still deserves scrutiny. Dallas has moved the ball, but I'd be watching the protection and run blocking closely rather than judging the unit simply by the scoring drives.
Of course injuries are the biggest concern. Several Cowboys are listed with injuries during the game, including Jalen Thompson, Princeton Fant, Zion Childress, James Houston and P.J. Locke.

The Camden Brown performance is the story of the night for me. A two-TD game with that one-handed catch is exactly how a young receiver gets people talking about a roster spot.
Yeah but I think that people are keeping out this Israel kid everyone's calling him Izzy that running back I saw him flashed in practice to scrimmage and in this game it does not matter that it's against backups they're all playing against backups I think he's taking someone's spot he looks like he's built more like Williams but runs like Davis..
I think they keep Davis as the primary backup but keep Blue for the one thing you can't teach... speed and lots of it. Mafah is headed to the practice squad. And NO, he won't be snapped up. He doesn't have a single trait that is good enuff to make other teams want him more than what they have. He is big but slow and doesn't have contact balance. Sorry but I just don't see anything special about him. I didn't see it during the draft runup last year and I don't see anything now. I don't get what the talking heads see in him.
I didn't see the strength of Mafah that you did. He went down easier than Blue. Blue was being tackled by DT's on inside runs. I believe the coaches were trying to test his ball safety. Mafah was getting the outside shots that Blue should have been getting and was being tackled by DB's. Just don't see the strength.

Davis was the best back on the field.
That's easier said than done in the NFL. A running back that can't run between the tackles in useless.
It bothered me that we never got a replay on any of those penalties. It felt like there was some ‘home cooking’ going on.
Caron is frustrating, will make a good play then a bad play. But bottom line you can not commit that many penalties even though not sure the PI was a PI. But you can't hurt your team with penalties.
