Yeah, I definitely want Steinbach also but someone would have to go over to the RG, either Kosier or Steinbach. Not sure how difficult that type of switch is but shouldn't be as hard as LT to RT.
We absolutely HAVE to bring in someone to replace Rivera. Rivera has been horrible. Sure wish we would've gotten Wahle way back when...
Maybe our scouts will find another Kosier to replace Rivera....
Steinbach may want a Steve Hutchinson-type contract.

If Steinbach came here, Kosier would probably move to RG. I believe he's played every line position. When he signed here there was talk he could play RT if something hadn't worked out there.

The only guy I would want out of that list is Adalius Thomas as he would be an awesome addition to our front-7. I was hoping we would get him prior to last year when we were first making the switch to the 3-4 but the Ravens re-signed him. Unfortunately we don't really need him now.

Steinbach would be nice as well but again, where would we put him? Is he going to replace Rivera? That would be tough to swallow for Jerry and our cap. Kosier is playing pretty well so I'm not anxious to get rid of him.

I'd like to see us have more depth on the O-Line but mostly at OT. The other positions I'd prefer to fill via the draft, mostly at WR so we can groom a guy or two while we still have Glenn and Owens. NT is another area of concern s we don't have a lot of depth there.

Freeney wouldn't play DE here he would have to be converted to a linebacker the way Ellis was. He just doens't big enough to play DE in a 3-4. Before I would take Freeney I would take Thomas from the Ravens as Freeney's run stopping skills have always been in question. Thomas can do it all, but you are going to have to pay it all and since we already have Ellis and Ware. Not going to happen. The only other player I see worth looking at would be Steinbach at guard to replace Rivera.

Rivera might be tough to swallow but he's our weakest Olineman. If we're going to improve the line, he needs to be replaced. Kosier could move to RG and Rivera to the bench if Jerry doesn't want to take the cap hit and cut him.

I wouldn't mind taking a shot at FA FS's Ken Hamlin or Deon Grant if Watkins doesn't show anything this year. I guess I'd prefer Grant because he's more athletic and better in pass coverage.

I didn't look at your list but the name I heard on the radio is the back-up qb at KC, he has started the lst couple of weeks for Trent Green and he looks great, we need another qb prospect either by draft or FA..

i don't see us being big players in f.a.
some think we need to replce rivera but i would rather do that with the draft. i don't think we will be cutting rivera after the contract he signed. thats why you got to be careful with f.a's
we have to sign a backup qb if romo is for real so thats got to happen, but i just don't think after the money we've spent the last two years that we will be big players

I would love to have that kind of depth at OG but I don't think we can afford to have that much cap space tied up in that position as Steinbach won't come cheap.

I do agree though, Rivera is the weakest link on the O-Line.

Not really, If Ellis can convert, Freeny could too, but I wouldn't go after him. Stienbach is the guy we should target. The rest of our holes can be filled in the draft.

I would think that the Colts would francise him but with the way they've spent money lately you just never know. Manning, Harrison and Wayne represent like over a third of their cap figure. That will catch up to a team, ask the 49ers and also the depth ravaged Cowboys of yesteryear.

Derrick Dockery from the Commanders intrigues me. He is very young and very talented. He shouldn't break the bank, and the boys should be able to outbid the skins for his services. The Commanders payed those worthless recievers and they may not have the resources available to resign this guy.
