Derrick Dockery from the Commanders intrigues me. He is very young and very talented. He shouldn't break the bank, and the boys should be able to outbid the skins for his services. The Commanders payed those worthless recievers and they may not have the resources available to resign this guy.

No tainted players please... ;)

to make a spot for him would requiring switching back to 4-3 or making nickel our base d...unrealistic

cowboys dont touch him

Yeah. Just like we did to accomodate Gregg Ellis.

Regardless, he's not hitting the market

Not really, If Ellis can convert, Freeny could too, but I wouldn't go after him. Stienbach is the guy we should target. The rest of our holes can be filled in the draft.

Be realistic. Freeny will have a choice of a number of teams - there's no way he would choose one that would require him to switch positions.

Steinbach is the only player of the bunch that interests me, but like others have said, I don't think Jerry would be particularly agreeable to that kind of salary hit at Guard on top of Rivera and Kosier.

The one possibility that might make it more acceptable is if Kosier were to move to OT - he played OT some in Detroit.

freeney would have no spot on this team unless we could move him to OLB opposite of ware. he is wayyy to small to play 3-4 DE and dont think dallas could pay him the kind of money he is going to get to play in the nickel and dime

Yeah he's not doing so well in the 4-3 as it is, he would be better suited playing like Ellis is now, OLB..

1) Crayton is a RFA, do we use some cap money to lock him up long-term?

2) Freeney could never play here, he only wants to run upfield 8 yards to get a sack, BP would make him play the run first. Total clash there lol.

3) The right side of our OL needs immediate help. We either go after a first/second rounder at G or we sign someone. Steinbach would be pricey and we have to eat Rivera's contract or we do find someone like another Kosier to come in and "compete" with Rivera for the RG spot.

4) Even with McQ and Colombo, Flo is just about done IMO. If we go after a first/second round T, I wonder if Flo doesn't become trade bait for a QB or draft pick to get a QB. I lke Jake Long at T from U of Mich a lot.

5) Deon Grant or Hamlin would be great additions back at the FS position. Easy to get one of them and let Coleman go and probably not horribly expensive to sign one of them if they get to walk.

Yeah, I definitely want Steinbach also but someone would have to go over to the RG, either Kosier or Steinbach. Not sure how difficult that type of switch is but shouldn't be as hard as LT to RT.
We absolutely HAVE to bring in someone to replace Rivera. Rivera has been horrible. Sure wish we would've gotten Wahle way back when...
Maybe our scouts will find another Kosier to replace Rivera....
Steinbach may want a Steve Hutchinson-type contract.
I see you have Palmer on your draftboard. Don't worry, he's sure to toss at least another 5-10 INTs by season's end. He should be there in the 3rd hehe

Jordan Palmer reminds me of Bledsoe in that he sometimes holds the ball too long and forces passes when he knows better. (coincidence both coached by Mike Price?). But give him a decent Oline and I think he'll develop into a solid NFL qb. maybe not like Carson, but solid none the less

The only guy I would want out of that list is Adalius Thomas as he would be an awesome addition to our front-7. I was hoping we would get him prior to last year when we were first making the switch to the 3-4 but the Ravens re-signed him. Unfortunately we don't really need him now.

Steinbach would be nice as well but again, where would we put him? Is he going to replace Rivera? That would be tough to swallow for Jerry and our cap. Kosier is playing pretty well so I'm not anxious to get rid of him.

I'd like to see us have more depth on the O-Line but mostly at OT. The other positions I'd prefer to fill via the draft, mostly at WR so we can groom a guy or two while we still have Glenn and Owens. NT is another area of concern s we don't have a lot of depth there.

Steinbach is a first round LG, so he would start.
