If all the surefire first round CBs are gone by our a pick, I wouldn't be surprised to see Coleman at 27. I can't see him getting a past NE.

Been saying this all along. Give me Coleman at 27 and anything after that is a bonus. This kid is going to be special, especially behind our oline.

Apparently, he led college football in number of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yard TD runs, and tied the lead in 70, 80 and 90 yard TD runs. He probably would have had a lot more 90 yard runs if there actually would have been 90 yards for him to run.

Murray was the same with Dallas.

I still prefer Dline or CB with our first pick, but I don't think there'll be anyone worth a 1st rd pick on our turn.

The thought of having Coleman and McFadden running behind this line is downright scary though..

You recall seeing it yet you want me to show you again? You admit it happens.
But it happens with any back. I've seen Chris Johnson run down from behind. Hell I've seen Ware run down backs who ran .2+ seconds faster than him in the 40.

You are right. It depends on the angles and the situation. Gurley is known for being a track star , but he has been caught from behind. It happens. Most of these backs will be an improvement over Murray when it comes to the longer runs. Murray would search for a defender to tackle him instead of running through a side open lane. Murray is also the only back that I have ever seen quit and fall down on long runs. The one area that Murray really excelled was the short, tough yardage .

I can't front like I don't see the homerun ability in this kid because if you look at his highlight tape, it seems like all his runs are big gains running through huge holes. Maybe or maybe not that can translate into the NFL but you have to realize that he's not going to be playing Indiana State, Purdue or Illinois anymore, this is the big leagues from here on out. One negative that sticks out to me is that he doesn't switch ball hands

Watching his highlight tape reminds me of Darren McFadden

1 time......wow 1 time. If your going to say it like it happens frequently then show it to me more than the one video that the guy caught up to him and then he dragged him 17 yards. You can't, because he doesn't get caught from behind. Actually I could argue that he has the best break away speed of a back since CJ, evident by how poorly the angles are that defenders take to get him......watch and see for yourself pal.

Any time I want to turn away from Coleman, all I can think of is 1,200 yards on a broken foot

I dont get the hype around this guy at all...probably my least favorite back...sure, he can ran throw gaping holes and he can outrun college defenders...I see nothing w this guy...

You have it all completely backwards. Its MG who runs through gaping holes. Also, 20% of MGs carries went for 0-negative yards. The few times Coleman caught a hole are the highlights you see.

Gordon has elite cutting ability..he jump cuts like shady McCoy...he starts and stops on a dime

Gordon lacks the top end speed..for sure...but his acceleration is second to none in this class

If you want to go evaluate by highlights then fine but it is nothing but confrimation bias. He is a 4.59 guy going into the draft according to NFLdraftscout. He seems a 4.5 guy to me as well. He has good not great speed.

And he is nowhere near as fast as CJ. That is just goofy. He isn't even as fast as Gordan.

We'll see his speed tomorrow.

Keep on reading your stupid *** draft scout websites that do nothing but throw numbers at a board till they stick........The guy is way faster than a 4.5 and even if he does run a 4.5 (which would shock me) he is as fast in pads as the fastest. Rice ran a 4.6 something but never got caught from behind. Keep reading the BS draft sites though. We will see after his pro day all these professional sights bump him up 20-30 spots after tomorrow, I am just here to tell y'all sooner.

Also, put your money where your mouth is. I bet $100 he runs faster than "Gordan". Just say I take the bet before he runs cause I won't be around to accept, I am in though. Oh, and I will give you a whole .05th off of Gordans time because I know you will cry how the 40 times are always inflated outside the combine. So 4.52-.05=4.47, so Tevin has to beat a 4.47 tomorrow. PUT YOUR $ WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS PAL, I'm in.

Not to piss on the bonfire here, but Coleman had a sesamoid bone in his foot removed and a tendon reattached to another bone just a few months ago. I had the same surgery to my sesamoid bone (I played college football) and have never been the same. Neither was Calvin Hill who had the same surgery (so did Heath Shuler but he always sucked). The sesamoid is a free floating bone under the ball of your foot. When mine was taken out, my big toe lost its strength and range of motion. May not sound like much, but your big toe is the last thing that pushes when you run. As a result, my left leg lost the "pop" it used to have. And it led to me overcompensating, and having right knee surgery a few years later for torn cartilage. Of course I was never an elite athlete, had the surgery in my 30's, and Coleman had it at age 21. So this result is not going to necessarily happen to Coleman, but never underestimate how significant a foot surgery -- and this one in particular -- can be on a running back long term. Buyer beware.

I don't think Gordon lacks top end speed at all. He looks like Jamaal Charles minus the last gear Charles has, but that nobody has.
