Most draft are saying they have about 12 1st round players on their boards, so Dallas is right on the edge. Jeanty might be the play, but I some QB hungry team shoots Milroe up the board to push another player down.

Jeanty is a good option at 12. He will have an immediate impact and the pick is low enough that we shouldn't care so much about his second contract and whether he is Zeke or Henry in his career.

It would be ideal if a guy like McMillan fell to us though. Also really liking Harmon or Green at that spot.

There’s only 4 that really stick out to me as real blue chip prospects without too many warts.

Malakai Starks
Kelvin Banks Jr
Jalon Walker
James Pearce Jr

Trade Back is probably option #2 or 3, but may be tough in a class that lacks high end talent

thats not what i proposed though. i agree with you.

im pointing out that there is still a flaw in BPA, just like there is in going with Need.

thats all.

im saying that BPA is not 'gospel'...and no approach is. BPA is the safest and a good play...but posters spewing it are flexing on 'needs' posters since 'needs' cant compete with BPA a lot of times. I think you should use caution spitting an ideology when there could be posters that dont know the difference.

Yeah...take aim at clubs that have gone need in first round and it back fired when there was a stud elsewhere...I get it. But it isnt perfect.
Let’s just pray the stooges make a move with this coach. The Cowboys have drafted two straight developmental projects along the lines. That won’t happen again this year.

Jerry just signed Dak and CeeDee to record breaking contracts. The dumbest thing you can do is treat this draft like a rebuild. Take BPA. You can’t go wrong picking the best player.
Yep he did. And the Dak signing will go down as one of the worst deals in NFL history. You don’t come back with any athleticism after a hamstring avulsion, and Dak needs his mobility to be effective. Martin is worse than his backup at this point, and DLaw has punched his ticket. Hooker is done, Kendrick’s is ancient, cooks is ancient.

You have a below average RT and LT and a liability at RG. You have no one across from Parsons, nothing much at safety, and nothing special in your interior DL. We will probably overpay for Dowdle, but nothing more at RB.

People who believe the window is still open are kidding themselves.

The window is open because you have Dak, CeeDee and Parsons. No matter what those three were responsible for three straight 12-5 seasons. You act like this is a 5-12 team it’s not. With the right moves the Cowboys could return to the playoffs.

Kelvin Banks or Barron, please.

RB is deep this year and I'm willing to pass on Jeanty for other talent later.

Banks can play LT and move Guyton back to his natural RT position.

Barron is a dog who can replace J Lew if we decide to let him go in FA.

I think that may be true for a guy like Sanders (QB) if he slides, but I don’t see Milroe sniffing the 1st round.

Need to find a player who is one of your top 10 players for the next 5-6 years at least. They are in a bad spot as Mazi is a miss and Guyton had a rough first year. Both in play and mental mistakes. He is still raw but the negatives of his draft writeup certainly appear true. So, Dallas probably has to hit on their next 3 first round picks. It is likely they will be picking in the top 20 the next few years anyway. Need to hit. Some positions are higher due to their position, but just hit on the picks.

The cost saving opportunities on this team is at OG with Bass and Hoffman. Both of those guys are cheap serviceable replacements for Martin.

To a lesser degree, you would likely save a nominal amount of money by letting Dowdle walk in free agency. I don’t think he’ll command big money in the open market, just more than the Cowboys will probably want to spend. I think we can find an equally talented but cheaper option in the draft.

We had all three of them healthy early in the season and what good did it do?
You cannot field a team of three or four stars and fifteen starting scrubs or jags and get anything concrete accomplished

They were 2-2 when those three were healthy.

I hear ya, but I saw Anthony Richardson rise up the board 2 drafts ago. I think some team is going to overdraft Milroe.
Ive already put the "illusion" in check about Jeanty...

I agree with your post, why would things change now?

I have proposed the same thing about Jeanty, supposed the most hyped rb in years with stats to back it up. Dont know his overall skill set(blocking ability, catching)...but why would the most hyped rb ever get money-balled this particular year?

RB's have been devalued for 10 plus years now...and good ones still go high. Why would the most hyped guy in years go late if teams are moving towards having a good running game for playoffs? Or with the pro-passing League putting 6 or 7 in the secondary?

You cant excuse this stuff. Its real or it isnt. Jeanty should go top 10 or all this is not real but rigged towards gas-lighting...which is a shame.
