There most likely won't be a BPA.
I think they should trade out of the first round altogether. The strength of the draft is the second and third rounds. Trade the first pick get an extra 2nd and 3rd plus 1st for the 2026 draft that will be much stronger at the top. Defensive tackles and running backs will be plentiful in the 2nd/third rounds.

Kelvin Banks Jr would be a great pick.
The more I think about it - Banks may be the answer. Steele seems to have falling off the perverbial cliff.
June 1st cut, Guyton back to RT and we have our Oline and good backups. And we save money for some FA's as well !
This pick makes sense only if the DT and Dr's are gone already.

Banks is a stud but he might be a Guard. Hard for me to justify the pick if that’s the case.

To many offensive line weak teams in front of us to get Banks. We might be able to get the Ohio Stare left tackle coming off of a knee injury though. The YouTubers are saying he is best tackle in the draft.

That will be the multimillion dollar question, hard no if they project him as a guard.
It's gonna be a very interesting buildup to the draft, so many needs, but if they expect Dak/and the team to bounce back they must strengthen/shoreup the oline. Steele is the obvious out. WR and RB. Everything else goes to the defense. It's just a matter of what picks go where.
Oh, and if they don't want to throw a pick at WR this year, grab the Cincinnati WR in FA Tee Higgins. Leaves another pick for the D.

I think you have to go into this draft in a rebuild mentality. You will lose stars as fast as you replace them in the draft over the next few years. So guys like Jeanty are a waste for a team losing Martin, DLaw, Dak to age. You gotta go with positions that have longevity and have high blue chip potential. DT, OL, TE, S, QB maybe WR

Jerry just signed Dak and CeeDee to record breaking contracts. The dumbest thing you can do is treat this draft like a rebuild. Take BPA. You can’t go wrong picking the best player.

BPA in one year could be a 3rd round grade in another.

I get that that in most years things are fairly equal...I just think there are scenarios where this BPA ideology is wrong and that you are better off going by position...even in the first round. Or trade out.

I get that its safe...but it isnt bullet-proof, and there are areas to take calculated risks on a need over BPA that I think could elevate a team. Maybe it takes more brain power or compute to pull off...but nothing too hard.

Supposedly this is a terrible WR class. Why would I take a WR as my FRP if he has an historic 3rd round grade, but is considered BPA? Im sure you can knock holes in this with "Well, something is off if a WR that is considered BPA at FRP #16 is considered BPA over all positions but is considered a 3rd round pick most other drafts"

But is doesnt work that way

Let’s make it simple for you. If Jeanty is there at 12 the Cowboys should pick him. Most draft nicks have him as a top 5 player in this draft. There is not one scout that would have the kid in the third round. The Cowboys get better immediately because they would add a playmaker to the offense.

Correct me if im wrong, but going into the offseason our only main players signed along the DL are:

 Micah
Sam
Mazi
Kneeland

DL is a massive need, especially if Jerry skips free agency again.

Only RB signed is Vaughn.

At corner, diggs is injured and JLew is a free agent.

Linebacker, Overshown is injured and EK was a 1 year rental. I think this season showed we expect very little from Damone Clark.

So at this point and time, I would watch for DL, RB, CB and LB.

We have to use free agency. There is no way around it. We literally have to replace 50% of the roster.

Yeah, but does Jerry sign 10 year vets on their last leg or younger players who still have a future in this league.

Stephen hinted it would be SOS.

Well they better be ready for the heat they will get. I don’t think they can blame anyone now. Dak and McCarthy have always been the buffer. The Eagles improvement after using free agency and hiring real assistant coaches has pointed the bullseye right at the Joneses.

thats not what i proposed though. i agree with you.

im pointing out that there is still a flaw in BPA, just like there is in going with Need.

thats all.

im saying that BPA is not 'gospel'...and no approach is. BPA is the safest and a good play...but posters spewing it are flexing on 'needs' posters since 'needs' cant compete with BPA a lot of times. I think you should use caution spitting an ideology when there could be posters that dont know the difference.

Yeah...take aim at clubs that have gone need in first round and it back fired when there was a stud elsewhere...I get it. But it isnt perfect.
