What's 'made up' about it?

The guys missed all of last season with a degenerative knee condition - that means one that doesn't get better for those who apparently don't know.

Since some of us "apparently don't know" could you please inform me how he could miss nearly all of last season...and then be healthy enough to play this season...on a "degenerative" knee since, you know, that means one that doesn't get better?

Sounds to me like it did get better. Thanks for playing though.

Seriously?

It sounds to you like it did?

By virtue of him not being able to pass a physical?

Or maybe by him being so confident that he still refuses to sign a split contract?

Or maybe the fact that he was a non-factor ghost when he did make his cameo appearnace?

Talk to me about all of the other players who've bounced back from degenerative knee conditions before and we can talk about it.

Fact is that without microfracture surgery, the cartilage does not grow back and the condition doesn't improve.

But if Glenn's found the 'miracle cure', he can bottle and sell it and he doesn't need to play football.

And he was a complete non-factor in the games he did play.

He couldn't pass the team's end of season physical and still can't - a year later!

Nothing 'made up' there, just the cold, hard facts the glee club chooses to ignore.

The part where you say that Terry Glenn is no longer in Terry Glenn's league. You can't possibly know that.

Degenerative does not mean the same thing as degenerated, but thanks.

As for the games he played last year, we understand that in your world his production indicated he knee degenerated. The glee club also understands maybe it was b/c one of the games we didn't gameplan and that its not always easy to come back and play at a probowl level after missing the previous 15 games.

We've been round and round on this issue. I understand that you think you're a decider and that we should waste time collecting a lot of information before we make a decision and move on. You understand that I don't see any harm in actually seeing whether or not the guy can play before deciding to start or cut him. The only issue I have is when you pretend you've got hard data that says the guy can't play to backup your opinions, because you don't.

He played in the final game of last year.

Glenn's knee not healthy enough in first 15 games + Glenn's knee being healthy enough to play in 16th game = Glenn's knee got better.

Or another way of putting it, if his knee had no chance of getting better without microfracture surgery, why the heck did he have two surgeries on it? For the fun of it?

Degenerative means it ain't gettin' any better.

Plenty of former NFL players can attest to that fact.

No, his lack of production showed that. The fact that he couldn't separate from cornerbacks and showed none of his former speed, his best attribute.

And Glenn contributing nothing when he did play = not better.

I think you need to do some research and find out why he actually had the surgeries he did.

My opinion is based on what happened last year and what is happening now, it's not based on what I hope or what I wish would happen.

I'm scared this season that the Cowboys might have the receivers to take over if TO gets hurt or all of a sudden old.

You've got nothing but wishful thinking.

There's no data to say anything about what rate the cartilage degeneration is occurring, and there's nothing to relate what that degeneration means to his skills or abilities on the field.

It's a fact that he couldn't separate now? Because he looked pretty good to me on the plays where they went to him. And it's a fact that he's shown none of his former speed? Along with the fact that he's not as capable as he once was. And here I thought you didn't have the facts on your side. I feel silly.

When did we change the definition of the word 'fact' to mean 'stash's personal opinion'? Because the fact that that memo went out was lost on me.

I'll concede that what I've got right now is wishful thinking. If we can get TG to camp, we'll get to see what the facts really are about his abilities on the field.

Here's the data:

2007 season 0 catches 0 yards 0 TD's

You should. I'm going by what I did see. Not what I wish I saw. I saw a guy who - after all of the talk and all of the hype of 'how good he looked' produce nothing.

The only guy talking opinion here is you. Everything I've mentioned actually happened in real life - not the fantasy-land and wishful thinking you stick to.

And I don't disagree with that at all.

I also hope that I'm wrong about everything I've said.

But the realist in me is telling me that unfortunately, the guy is done.

There's nothing fantastic about saying 'let's just wait and see what happens in training camp,' which is what I've said all along. Nor is there anything wrong with withholding judgment re: the reasons why Glenn was not productive in the two games he played in last season. There are too many variables involved for you to be as sure as you claim to be about Glenn's actual physical status.

I've said before that I don't think you have anything in for TG in particular. I do think you're trying to be realistic. I just think you're too impatient to really understand that you don't have enough info to be an actual realist at this point. Believe me, you won't be arguing with me about whether or not we should have TG on the roster if the guy's not healthy enough to produce in training camp and the preseason.

Glenn didn't impress on his return, but he did average 15 yards on his 2 catches in the playoffs
