Possible Teams For Bledsoe To Start For In 2007

After this season I really don't see any team taking him as a starter unless they are in extreme dire straits. He'll be a 15 year vet next year, well past the average career length of a QB.

He's a backup at best at this point in his career.

Its not so much "lying" about it, I just think he might have problems going out on these terms. While he has been all class about the benching, you can still see in almost everything he says that he thinks Bill made the wrong decision and that he still thinks he can play.

He won't come back here if Romo keeps it up, that's a given. But I will be very surprised if his agent doesn't call every team in the league with a shaky QB situation, and like Collins this year you just never know how things will shake out.

I'd put the odds around 80% that no one is willing to give him a shot at the starting spot on their team and he retires. BUt I was pretty sure Collins was done too. Its a QB starved league, no two ways about it, so you never know.

You aren't even adressing what I said. I was saying he wasn't interested in being a backup and you were talking about him finding a starting gig.

If he accepted a backup spot he would only be perpetuating "these terms" that he is facing now.

Big picture with Bledsoe. He gives a team respectability and helps the fans have some hope. Any perenial 2 win team that knows Bledsoe can get them to 500 or slightly better will be happy.

Green Bay would be saying the same thing as Baltimore.

I don't think Drew fits Kubiaks offense. He likes to move the QB around. Did so with Plummer in Denver and now Carr in Houston.

Yep, about the only team in the NFL that would take the Frankenstien monster would the Raiders. And that's doubtful because their o-line is horrible. No way could they protect him.

Like a said a day or two ago, the only reason to go with a QB Bledsoe's age is if he is still playing at or near his peak years. Otherwise you look to the future and groom a youngster.

There is a double edged sword here. Teams won't be interested in an aging starter on his last legs, and Bledsoe won't be interested in playing for a team that is only using him to man the post temporarily while they prepare a younger guy to play.

It just doesn't make sense.

I am perfectly content to have Drew retire. I thought the question was which teams might want him next year? It's not unreasonable that he would start for another team that is looking to gain some respectability back from their fans. Fans in Detroit, Oakland, Baltimore or Cleveland would go ape over finishing 9-7 or 8-8 for a change. That is what Bledsoe can deliver, as he proved in NE, Buffalo and Dallas.

From there if the stars are aligned, guys like Trent Dilfer, Doug Williams, Ken Stabler, Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler can win a SB, Drew Bledsoe certainly can.

That is what his thought process would probably be and he would probably be right. If Dallas or Buffalo had decent kicker he probably would have gone deep into the playoffs 2 of the past 3 years.

He didn't say that after being benched, he has said it ever since he has been a Cowboy.

He has said for 2 years that if he can't start in the NFL anymore he would rather retire than sit on the bench. The only reason he isn't following through with that now is that it is mid-season and he doesn't want to leave the team in a bind for QB depth. After the season he will live up to his words.

As much as I have supported Drew, I think it is time to retire. He has had many concussions, can't reacte well under pressure and I just think his best days are behind him. Best of luck to him, but I reaally think he should be done. Too bad he never achieved his full potential, but few players do.

We'll know in 2 months for sure but it's too early to say at this point. I stand behind my opinion that he plays for one more team.

Drew has already said Dallas is his last stop. I think he heads back to Montana after the season.

Perhaps there's an Arena League 2 team out there in Montana he can catch on with.

This post is intended for the "serious NFL" posters in the zone. I would like to start a dialogue with those of you who can look at the entire league and be objective.

If this is NOT you then please don't waste everyone's time posting.

Whether you are a Bledsoe fan or not, this could be an interesting conversation.

Bledsoe has come out and said that he knows he can still play in this league and "read between the lines" it clearly sounds like he will be back in 2007 starting for a new team. Time will ultimately tell BUT, let's assume this happens.

The season is only half over and I am sure there will be some changes in the QB outlook between now and January with some teams. That being said, I would like your opinion's on which team you think Bledsoe will be starting for next year or which teams will be peruse him.

Last year there were 5 teams wanting Bledsoe at QB and he chose Dallas. Without knowing which other 4 teams were making a run for him we do not know their current QB status. John Clayton said on ESPN radio last week that There WILL be teams available for Drew next year and he predicts he will be back starting with a new club.

Of all 32 teams, Who gets your vote/prediction.
