Possible trade idea involving Lamb

Paying big money to a WR is completely ********. Especially one who does his best work in the slot.....

They'll just sign him, but again, signing a WR to big money is stupid and doesnt lead to any amount of tangible success.
If your quarterback is Prescott, Hurts, or D. Jones you should probably consider finding some good receivers.

So, I was chatting with a friend of mine who is a Ravens fan. He and I came up with a possible trade idea involving Lamb. I was wondering what you all would think?

So, as we were discussing what we thought of the NFL landscape, I mentioned that we probably aren't going to be able to keep Dak, Lamb, and Parsons. As far as I know, the Ravens have a solid amount of cap space. So, I mentioned that, especially with CeeDee holding out, there may be a way to trade him. So, what he and I thought of was this for a couple of scenarios for trading him to Baltimore. It should be noted that this would be a trade of him outside the conference, so it shouldn't cause too much harm to us (even though we do play Baltimore this year):

  1. The Cowboys trade Lamb for a 1st and a 3rd. This gives the Cowboys a couple extra picks. The Ravens would have to resign him, but they should have the cap space to do that. Plus, Lamar would then have the options of throwing to Lamb, Flowers, Agholor, Bateman, or Mark Andrews with Derrick Henry out of the backfield. This gives them all the talent they should need to beat Kansas City. Meanwhile, the Cowboys would have an extra first to potentially draft a replacement for Lamb and an extra pick for whatever we want to do with it.
  2. The Cowboys trade Lamb for a 1st and Rashod Bateman. Bateman is on the last year of his contract, but he'd be a nice addition in a combination with Cooks and Tolbert. Plus, he shouldn't be too much for the Cowboys to extend if he were to want to remain here. Or, if we let him walk, we would get a comp pick (likely a 3rd) when someone else resigns him. So, in essence, it'd be a 1st and a 3rd the following draft.
Either way, both options would benefit the Cowboys and the Ravens if the Cowboys and Ravens were to come to such an agreement. CeeDee Lamb is worth at least a first in a trade. They'd be able to resign him, and Lamar would probably push their FO to get Lamb. They'd have the talent to get past the Chiefs as they're much closer to a championship than we are. We would have an extra pick and maybe a player in return to help expedite our rebuild. In essence, since we would then have 2 first round picks (plus maybe an extra pick or player). Depending on what we do at QB, we would either have the opportunity to draft a QB (if we let Dak walk) and a WR, trade up for a top QB (if we let Dak walk), or (if Dak stays) draft an olineman and a WR.

Basically, since we draft well, the Cowboys would be able to rebuild more quickly (especially with our defence sounding good in TC), while the Ravens would be getting a piece they'd need. I think it's a win-win. Plus, it makes the Cowboys a more likely contender in the near future with the extra draft capital, which benefits what we do well.
The only one who needs to be shown the door is Prescot. CeeDee is too valuable to this organization to be traded this early into what appears to be a great career. The Cowboys at this time are pretty much mirroring the 9er's offense before they drafted Purdy, they have a great receiver, an above average TE and their O line might be pretty good this year, so the only thing they need is a QB who does not go MIA in money games. Time has come to either let Prescot walk at the end of the year or bench him and allow him to find a trade partner if he doesn't want to ride the bench in 2024. It's apparently clear that Prescot is in it for himself, he doesn't care if CeeDee or Parsons gets signed. He's a HAPPY CAMPER knowing that the rainbow is at the end of 2024 season. If the Cowboys tank this year he'll blame it on CeeDee or Parsons, when in fact he could have called a press conference to say that he would take less to get deals done for his two mates, which would make him look like a hero in the eyes of Cowboy Nation, but Mr Untrustworthy/Greedy isn't going to do that so JJ needs to get busy signing his two stars and at the same time announce that Prescot is no longer in the Cowboy's bright future and will be moved to the 3rd string QB and will probably be spending A LOT of time on the on the In-Active List as the season progresses, unless he requests a trade which the Cowboys will gladly to accommodate him.

We gave up two 1’s for Joey Galloway but we’re taking only a 1 and 3 for Cee Dee, who is MUCH better? Pfffft.

So you get rid of one of the top young receivers in the NFL for a first-round pick that could be near the bottom of the round and might not net you nearly the same level of talent?

Dallas will re-sign Lamb, Dak and Parsons. It's just a matter of time.
You get less talent, but you save a *lot* of cap.
Spending on top WRs rarely pans out to championships.

But since Jerry likes to make money over win championships anyway, I'd be surprised if they moved Lamb. WRs make highlite reels.

While I believe Jerry is horrible and Stephen may have some alphabet deficiency that prevents him from being anything but the shadow of the worst GM in the league and maybe NFL history, this post about trading Lamb ranks right up there as silly. There is no math in this post which works out past Just No!

Dallas should’ve considered trades before the draft. No way they’re trying lamb. He will get a new contract. Jerruh is just dragging ***.

We gain absolutely nothing from trading lamb for just draft picks right now.
I think that's the point though...for Jerry

I still believe this is a throw away season where Jerry sheds big contracts and players and coaches that have gone 2-5 in the playoffs.

It's about evaluating which young players will be a part of reboot 2025

The problem with Lamb is not CAP space in 2024. Re-signing him would actually free up CAP space, maybe $15 million. The problem is fitting him, Dak and Micah into the CAP 3 years down the road when their CAP numbers will be at their peak, while also saving enough space to sign Bland, Osa, and Tyler Smith. This is the problem the Cowboys have,

i don't think we are getting back enough. tyrek hill went in 22 for a 1st, 2nd, two 4ths and a 6th.

davonte adams went for a 1st and 2nd.

it'd be interesting to see what browns and pats are offering for ayiuk.
It’s not just the picks, it’s the picks AND the MASSIVE contract.

Wow....an actual realistic proposal.

Only problem is...Bateman would get here and immediately hold out, LOL Jerry on Twitter, and clown him like ceedee is doing.

I'm aware that it'd be a mid-20s first round pick, and I'd like to think we would get a bit more. I'd love for us to keep Lamb, but I'm not sure we do. So, hey, maybe getting a 1, 3, and a 5 would be solid too.
Don't cave.

They're trying to make you up it to 14 first rounders. Ur proposal is realistic...at least as far as value. Whether or not BAL would have interest..who knows. But there would be a market
