had posted this in another thread - But wanted to get an idea what others thought of just Trades and picks.
Mine is:

To back this up with some numbers on a trade. Please forgive me if I missed that a team does not have a pick in that round.
We pick 4th. Trade partners could be San Francisco, Miami or Tampa.
Using our 1st round pick only.
Trade with San Francisco would be their 1st, 3rd, 5th and maybe 7th.
Trade with Miami would be their 1st, 3rd, 4th.
Trade with Tampa Bay would be their 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th.

Now with the extra 3rd trade the Cowboys 2nd round pick bundled with the extra 3rd round pick from one of the above teams.

Trade back into the first round at approximatly position 22nd to 26th if someone is still available and his rating by scouting staff warrents that high a pick.

It get's the Cowboys a home run hitting back.
It get's trader Jerry some juice.
It get's a few extra late round picks.

All good IMO.

The draft this year is flat. There isn't much difference between the top ten and second tier ten. I am guessing all top 10 teams would like to trade back. Therefore, don't expect much in trade offers. And those draft chart values some people throw around are absolutely worthless. It is a weak market for sellers (those wanting to move down) and a strong market for buyers (those wanting to move up).

What's it going to be then, eh?

If Dallas won't pull the trigger on a QB at 4, then I would hope they try very very hard to bail on the pick.

I just do not know who would want to move up if it is not for a QB.

It would be beneficial to wait until the Combine before coming up with too many absolutes about the top 10 picks, since something unexpected changes the Draft view every year.

Watch for Paxton Lynch to rise and Wentz to fall, Jack to stud out at the combine and Treadwell or Zeke to be determined. An unexpected will jump up slots into the top choices. A previously determined will fall.

I thought Goff was #1 QB but I like things I hear about Wentz more and more.
I hope there is no trade down but who knows

No. Take him. If he's arm strength is a such a red flag, then otherwise.

As long as Romo is on this team my only concern is a quality backup QB. We need
more draft picks not a clipboard holder. Until Romo retires I am going all in getting him a Super Bowl caliber roster to play with.

My only concern is trading that 4th pick in for the highest QB left on their board whether thats Goff, Lynch or Wentz.

lol. Until Romo retires. Ask Broaddus about that strategy on not finding Aikman's replacement until he retired. The years after him were gold. And it's gonna take more than this draft to put us near a so called Super Bowl caliber roster. With or without our so called rookie qb clipboard holder.

Yes, many things will change. I came up with my "way to early" mock draft last November, when we could pick anywhere from 4th to 18th.
I pretty much stuck to that same line of thoughts. But haven't put a lot of thought into it since then. As to another mock.

Way too much will change, underclassman needing to declare and now that they have, and the bowl games changed the board some. Then we will have the senior bowl, then the combine.
And picking 4th, even without any trade scenarios, is still giving me a headache of the possibilities.

So I won't look at it too much until after the combine. And then I may even wait until after FA is mostly done, before trying another mock draft. Unless I get really bored someday. Which may be this weekend with no football on Sunday. LOL.

Too many lists will change too many times up to a few weeks before the draft.

When is Romo retiring? Do you have an exact date?
The Cowboys failure of getting a QB post Aikman was in their inability to properly evaluate the position. Drafting Quincy Carters and ex baseball pitchers was not the way to go.

I just want all the bases covered at #4. The QB, or Bosa, or the WR, whoever the CBoys decide is the best player at that spot.

I wouldn't be looking to trade this draft.

ONLY reason to go up is Goff but we can't afford to toss the world to get him. Moving up even one spot this high is very costly.
Trading down means moving away from the highest pick you've had in forever. I wouldn't be in any hurry to do so.
While you can certainly miss an draft a Mo caliber player up high you also see the vast majority of All Pros come up here also.

I want my shot at a true difference maker.

I sat through all those losses (shaking my head the entire time) so I want an elite player, lol.
