I am guessing your co-worker saw the DC.com article by Nick Eatman saying the Cowboys are watching for a potential backup NT.

Then probably saw the other article (I forget by whom) that says Carpenter, Burnett, and Ayodele all have tradable cap figures.

To my knowledge these articles are the only source of any "rumors."

You only do that if you are satisfied with back-up TE play and it has to be what he cost us; at least a (high) second rounder...

All talk that I know of is speculation or other teams contacting the Cowboys about Curtis which probably isn't going to happen as I expect the Cowboys to keep 3 TEs and 2 FBs. (Witten, Fasano, Curtis, Hoyte, Anderson)

I can easily see the Skins being dumb enough to offer first and third for Austin and, while I like Austin, I'd probably take it -- assuming the Skins even have a first & third in 08 draft. Now if Hurd really steps it up and challenging Crayton, I'd take a first & third from Skins for Crayton. Just kidding of course since Skins now on a "save all our draft picks" kick.

Even the Skins arn't that stupid. Offering a #1 for Austin is stupid at this point. To add a #3 is utterly ridiculous. The guy has exactly ZERO catches in the NFL and has only proved that he *might* be a good NFL return man.

I was thinking the same thing. "probably"? Thats ike saying I would "probably" sleep with Jessica Alba if she begged, I would "probably" take a million dollars if offered to me. I would "probably" quit making VAcowboy cry if he asked nicely. (ok the last one IS a probably)
