Irrelevant if Cortez hits a 41 yard field goal.

Or Flo doesn't hold on a 17 yard completion to Key that would have iced the game.

Or numerous other plays I'm too lazy to go back and look up now, but are pretty well documented.

Dallas lost that game before Moss and Brunell hit those TDs. And *most* of it was our own doing.

I'll give you all that, but the game is what it is. At least we proved it was no fluke the second time.

Indeed.

But I'm more blaming our own misteps for not being in the playoffs now than I am caring about the Commanders.

Haha! You know you don't actually believe that. ;)

No, I don't. But with deer in the headlights Ramsey under center, you never know.

Oh, and I think if we met tomorrow there is a 50/50 chance either team would win.

Despite the beating, I find it hard to buy into one team is significantly better than the other.

You guys laid a 36-0 egg against the Giants the first time around, I'm sure you agree that sometimes teams just have one of those games.

That is BS. We didn't show up. A good high school team could have won that game. We beat ourselves more than the Commanders won it.

Yeah, you reap what you sow. Here's to many more Cowboys seasons put in jeopardy by the Commanders :beer1:

Btw, I wish you'd get rid of those ugly blue stars in your smilies. It's nauseating.

Come on man, fess up. We stomped a mud hole that day. We came to play and you didn't. I'm not trying to stir anything up, but let's stick to reality.

I wish you'd get rid of Sean Taylor. He's nauseating.

What? They both have the same chance of happening, right?

Maybe so, but beating you the second time proves the first time wasn't some abberation. I'm not saying we're necessarily that much better than the second score would indicate.

Sean Taylor is my man. No chance he leaves.

Don't hate :)

Well, maybe we'll just pound the ball all day long. I gotta be honest and say that I'd be a little nervous with Ramsey starting just because he's coming in cold and playoffs are on the line. The pressure to win may make him force some plays.

We'll just have to see what happens. I hope if he's called on he'll step it up.

The first time was an abberation.

I'm not being a homer when I say you stomped us the 2nd time, but if you think you 'won' the first game you are out of your mind.

We shot ourselves in the foot multiple times that game. You benefited. If I really thought wewere outplayed like the 2nd Eagles game I would happily admit it.

If the situations were reversed, there would be no way I'd be on a Commanders board trying to claims some sort of victory that game. Just be thanking the Football Gods they shined the light on me that day.

Listen, I understand that you made mistakes the first game, but you gotta give us credit for not giving up. You pretty much had the game in hand for 56 minutes. Most people I know gave up on the game and went to bed. I was still watching, but I thought it would be another loss.

You guys didn't do enough to put the game away and we did just enough to snatch it from you. It's not much of a fluke that we ran the same play twice, though.

EDIT: Am I the only one who hates the fact there is a discussion about a couple of ugly losses right after a really good win...

It's like somebody coming over to pee in your favorite cheerios and then say you gotta eat it.

And it's not a fluke that our kicker missed a critical FG, it's happened all season. The Skins got some breaks, and some favorable calls from the refs (LA phantom hold on a crucial 3rd down conversion). It was a miracle. Be happy with it. But don't come around here looking for some props to the skins on the first victory, viewing the second as some sort of affirmation. We ALL know what happened in game 1. The Skins got lucky.

I'm not trying to take credit away from you.

My point from the beginning has been that the outcome of that game, and consequently our season, was in our own hands and we didn't execute.

I give you guys all the credit in the world for hanging in there, but I don't consider it a game where you 'took' it away from us as much as we 'gave' it away, if that makes sense.

A 41 yard FG is not the stuff of legends.....

Ok. Good enough. We'll leave it at that.
