2000 was Aikman's last year and it was cut short as we all know. His last true, full season as the Cowboys QB was 1999. In 1999 the Cowboys scored 352 points. 2000 ushered in the Campo era and of course we finished the season with Anthony Wright at QB. It is natural that scoring would drop but it didn't drop as badly as some might imagine.

2000, the Cowboys scored 294 points. Goodbye Troy, and the scoring began to crater.

2001, 246 points.
2002, 217 points.

2003 we shoved Campo out the door and ushered in the Parcells era, and scoring went back up.

2003, 289 points.
2004, 293 points.

Welcome Drew Bledsoe in 2005 and scoring definitely started to rebound.

2005, 325 points.

In 2006 an undrafted magician took over for Bledsoe and scoring began to be the order of the day.

2006, 425 points.

In 2007, through 9 games we have scored 296 points. More than we scored in 16 games from 2000 to 2004. We're averaging 32 points per game and are on pace for 526 points this season.

Time to buy a Tony Romo jersey.

Excellent buy me one to!:D But really it is great to see our offense dominate the way it has. During the Campo years I wondered if the Cowboys would ever have a good offense again, I'm glad times change.....With some things!

Hopefully after this year you will be full of hope for the future and will love Jerry again. :)

I cannot wait till every game ..... the last few years it seems like I was dreading what might happen instead of being excited about what we could do.

Not anymore.

I hope I'm not jinxing the Cowboys success but I'm starting to like Jerry alittle more this year, now he's not off my hot seat totally but he's getting there and it's not just because the team is winning, although that's part of it. I really haven't just seen his face out in front so much like I thought I would when he hired Wade. And I thought Wade would be somewhat of a puppet but it looks like to me Wade is the driving the stampeed more than Jerry, right now which is what I didn't expect! But not to kill a warm fuzzy moment but I just need a playoff win this season to break this dispicable 10 year streak of not.:)

Me too. I'm torn between wanting to get to the next game and not wanting the season to come to an end.

The only thing that eases that a little is the 2 first rounders for the draft .... I am looking forward to that as well.

After a Superbowl win of course .... :)

This season, if we maintain current level of playing, we can break many team records and if stars are aligned right for us, we could have one of the greatest seasons of all time.

Several factors. First I only buy original Cowboys. In other words, I'll never have a TO jersey unless it is a gift. Never had a Deion one. Probably the only exception I would make is a Chuck Howley throwback, because though he started his career in Chicago, he is a Dallas Cowboy. No doubts about that.

Second, I rarely buy a jersey of someone whose time in Dallas might be limited. For example, I won't buy a Julius Jones one. Tony was a Free Agent at the end of the year. I know it was remote, but there was an outside chance we'd lose him.

Finally, I only buy stars or legends. He's finally reaching that plateau for me. By that I am saying he is a star and is cementing his legend in Dallas. I won't buy a flash in the pan jersey either. I don't think he will be, but that chance always existed.

I haven't bought a Cowboys Jersey in years because of some the same reasons as Hos. Just didn't seem to be a star on this team that would be around for a while playing at a high level. While Romo is the popular choice, I think I'm going to have to go with Jason Witten this holiday season. Guy is a superstar TE. He's signed to a long term deal and he'll be a Pro Bowl regular as long as he and Romo are playing together. The guy is only 25 years old and arguably the best TE in Cowboys history. The no helmet run cemented him as my favorite player and worthy of a Jersey buy.

I can't disagree with a word of this. Not one single solitary word.

I don't have Romo's jersey either, mainly because it is so hard to come by. I do have DWare jersey and wear it every Sunday.

Last Jersey I bought was a Troy Aikman jersey during the 1991 when Troy retired I was determined not to get another jersey until Dallas got their next franchise QB. As of yesterday I now have a Tony Romo jersey.

Bought an Authentic Romo jersey in white in the offseason, best purchase I have ever made.

Every game I have wore it we have won the game, I accidently forgot to put it on for the Patriots game because I was so excited about the game and we all know how that ended up.

It's more than just Romo taking over. Had BP stayed, there is no way in hell we would be scoring 32 points a game.

Good thread, Hos, interesting info! As far as jerseys go, my collection is vast (I'm a sucker for sporting my colors, what can I say): Staubach, Dorsett x2, Aikman x2, Irvin, Smith x3, Williams x3, JJones x3, Witten, Romo, Ware...shoot I even have a Meshawn one! My next purchase will probably a Newman one and I think I'm going to have to get a Woodson one made via the website because I cannot find an authentic one anywhere!

The only jerseys I own are 12, 74 and 79.

The 12 is one of those limited edition throwbacks, and was a gift.

The 74 I bought 'cus it was the old 60's-version double star, long sleeve and 100% cotton. Hard to find that.

And the 79 I bought at a function benefiting a now defunct charity headed by DeVincent Martin, Harvey's son.

I'm thinking it'll be awhile before I add to that. I prefer the "fan gear" type of apparel as opposed to the jerseys.
