QB - 3
Romo
Kitna
McGee

No brainer here, IMO.

RB - 3
MBIII
F Jones
Choice

FB - 1
D Anderson - IMO, he's o.k., not special. I wouldn't be shocked if we kept a 4th TE/H-Back instead of Anderson, depending on Garrett. But for now, I have to give Cricket the edge.

TE - 3
Witten
Bennett
J Phillips

OL - 9
Flo
Kosier
Gurode
Davis
Colombo
Holland
Brewster
D Free
C Proctor

WR - 5
R Williams
Austin
Crayton
Hurd
T Wilson - I think he beats out Stanback. I'll add that I still think there's a chance we pick up a cheap veteran before the regular season starts, espeically depending on the health of the top 4 WRs.

That's 24 guys on Offense.

4 specialists on STs
STs, McBriar, Ladouceur, Buehler, and Folk

DL - 7
Spears
Ratliff
Olshansky
Hatcher
S Bowen
Siavii, and
M Dixon - We've got several FAs on the DL next year. Dixon will be a cheap fill-in because it will be difficult for JJ to extend all of them.

LBs - 9
Ware - OLB
B James - ILB
Brooking - ILB
Spencer - OLB
Vic Butler - OLB
B Williams - OLB
J Williams - ILB
Carpenter - ILB
Hodge - ILB/SS/STs

Secondary - 9
Newman
Jenkins
Scandrick
A Ball - Can also play some FS in a pinch
Mickens
K Hamlin
Sensabaugh
D Smith
M Hamlin

That would be my 53 as well. Good job.
So only M.Johnson doesnt make the team of the drafted guys.
Hopefully one of Greg isdaner or Travis Bright can learn to play C and in time, upseat Cory Proctor at that swing spot.

I think M Johnson and Ogletree can both make the PS, however, esp since we're only keeping 5 WRs on the 53 man roster.

As for T Bright/Isdaner, I think at least one of them will make the PS - especially as we're only keeping 9 OL in my scenario.

The weakness in my roster scenario is at WR.

If one of our top 4 guys gets injured, we have little experienced depth.

Let's hope Sherman coaches up these guys really well.

The other weakness is at OT depth, of course. But that's JJ's fault, not mine!

I like your roster. But I suspect there will be some changes to it via injuries and pickups either vets or rookies. And generally one FA usually makes the team although this year will likely not be the case with so many drafted rookies.

That seems like a fair stab at the roster. Who'd have thought we'd be discussing 11 rookies possibly making the team? How bad was that draft?

Really good effort, Woods. I could live with that roster and hope the rooks come through.

Looks good to me. Wilson and Proctor are really the only question marks I have. If someone else can play center well enough to fill in for a game or two, I think Proctor could be gone. I will not be suprised at all to see a veteran WR brought in if they aren't happy with Wilson, Stanback, Johnson, or Olgetree.

Stanback and Watkins > Wilson and Brown > Hurd and Ball

Good special team players usually win these battles.

I'd rather have Bright than Proctor and Hannah over Phillips too.

Umm...no. The Stanback > Hurd is particularly head scratching.

agreed tomson, Hurd is a gunner on Punts for us, Stanback gives us nothing except running into the pile on KR a la Tyson Thompson

Stanback is a more versatile player to me and can be a gamebreaker for us with his speed as a WR, returner or potential wildcat option. Hurd just doesn't impress me in any way...speed, hands, route running, gunner, you name it....never has really.

Well done Woods.

If Ellis wasn't already in the process of being released I would have considered him for the suprise veteran cut in training camp-- but now that he's basically gone, there may not be a "suprise" vet to cut.

Pretty close to what I've been guessing too Woods. I keep waffling on Hodge. I can't figure out how they will use him. If he could play FB I think he would get the job and Cricket might be gone. but I've not seen any indication he could man that job. His intensity at FB would be awesome to watch. Imagine him leading the Barbarian on a sweep.

Aces stuff.

Looks good to me. I hope someone can beat out Carpenter though. If he wasn't a first rounder he wouldn't be here. Don't need him.

Where, when, and what....pray tell...have you seen from Stanback? Ever? He's done so much less than Hurd at this point that I can't even believe we're discussing it.

He's not even a third string practice breaker, nevertheless a "gamebreaker".

Procter @ Center and not Guard is an asset to the 53.

I missed that one. I'll take someone from Irvin's show before him. Injury after inury. After injury.
