Post game thoughts

Very telling that this is how you start out your post.

After seeing dozens of posts saying we basically had no shot, it shouldnt have been a surprise.

Why not just skip this nonsense and write all the other stuff?

Its not non-sense, its you being over sensitive

I guess we should all just read your posts from now on and then we will know exactly what's going to happen, lol.

I never claimed I knew what was going to happen, I only said that people were getting way too carried away last week with this high praise of the Falcons, and said I thought we could beat them if Romo played a good game.

And please don't tell us you knew Miles Austin was going to have anothe huge game or that the Cowboys defense would get four sacks on Ryan or that Crayton would have a punt return for a TD or that this secondary would come out hitting hard and coming up with interceptions.

Nope, I never said any of that. Also didnt say there was no hope for us, lik so many others did.

This team finally played a complete game and I am sure they surprised themselves somewhat with the performance. This team has played inconsistent in the first five games.

Yep, they sure have. No argument about hat.

Can't just be happy about the win. Just had to try and crap all over the fans who weren't confident about the Cowboys going into this game.

How was that crapping all over them? All I said was I read all week (really two weeks) about how we had no shot at all to win.

Some of the posters on here are so ready to call out the other posters instead of just talking about the game.

I didnt "call out" anyone specifically, again. You are being over sensitive.

This has become your M.O. on here now.

Yeah, ok

Everyone else is stupid and you are the smartest person in the world.

I never intimated that anywhere in that post. But if it makes you feel better to make statements like that, so be it.

Haha.....what are you doing to consistently reproduce that exact same quoting **** up all the time?

I just hit the quote button. Like this one.

Maybe someone can PM me and clue me in on what I'm doing wrong. I know CL beats me up on it almost daily.

Gee, thought I read people on here that said we had no chance to stop the highpower Atlanta offense and couldnt do anything with the Falcons great defense. Strike up another great call for CZ experts!

Outstanding win by the team. Other than two drives, our defense totally stopped them. Michael Turner didnt do crap. Matt Ryan really didnt do crap. Roddy White averaged something like 8 yds a catch. We didnt do anything in 1st quarter offensively, then they couldnt stop us. They did a good job vs the run, but they couldnt contain our passing game. For the first time this yr, Romo REALLY played a great game. He had a couple other solid games that looked better because of WR's YAC's, but today he was the "great" Romo.

1) Yes, Miles Austin is absolutely legit. Remember when we cut TO, Jones made the comment about Austin potentially being a #1? (not just a good player, or decent starter) Yeah, Jones was just in a drunken state I guess.

2) I think this is by far the best the pass rush has looked this yr. All you dopes that said Ware was a potential waste of money 3 weeks ago, please stand up and be accounted for. Of all the stupid crap thats said on here on a day to day basis, people questioning THIS guy have to be rated as THE dumbest. And the pressure didnt just come from Ware, it came from alot of people.

3) Alot of teams get credit for hiring this coach or that coach, but us bringing in Joe DeCamilis never gets mentioned, and its a shame. What a DRAMATIC difference in special teams coverage units. Buehler and McBriar are just ridiculous, but our coverage units when teams to try run backs are just amazing. It's the best we've had since the early Jimmy days.

4) Maybe we should demote Patrick Crayton more often.

5) Thought our offensive game plan was outstanding, though I have to admit I hated seeing the kneel downs at 2:00 mins. I wanted another TD and some more rushing stats. Over 400 yds of offense again, and over 8.0 yds per play.

6) I still believe that at some point this yr, Roy Williams is going to have some big games.

7) Yeah, I'm glad we didnt trade Martellus Bennett. He was more involved today and like RW above, I believe there's gonna be a few games this yr where he shows up huge.

8) Allen Rossum, we hardly knew ye.

9) Wade deservedly gets bashed for alot of stuff, but insisting on adding Keith Brooking once he got waived is something he deserves a ton of credit for. (I admit, I thought Brooking was done when we got him). It was also Phillips who wanted DeCamilis.

10) Mike Jenkins, you are a future probowler. No doubt in my mind about it. Wont be this yr, but look out 2010 onward.

11) Hard to gauge much on our RB's today, the Falcons clearly were geared up to stop the run. But Felix looked pretty damn quick to me. Only negative was the fumble, but he was solid other than that.

12) Gotta take care of Seattle next week, otherwise todays win doesnt mean much. But assuming they do, being healthy (potentially) and 5-2 going into Philly doesnt look so bad.

I think Garrett deserves some credit as well. Romo said during the post game that the long TD pass to Austin came about because of Garrett. He had Dallas working on that play all week and Romo said when the Falcons lined up with 3 pass rushers to one side it looked just like what Romo had seen all week in practice and the players went out and executed it.

It looks like when you try to separate the post into individual comments that you have a double quote tag on the font end.

So it looks like this......

where the bolded quote tag is unnecessary.

Next time you try to break a post into quotes, try typing the tags by hand where you want them to be. Just remember the opening tag has the format of:

{quote} (where [] replaces {})

and the closing tag has the format of:

{/quote} (where the [] replaces {})

Notice the "/" between the two.

duly noted, will give it a try

The Cowboys have been an inconsistent team for some time now, but they definitely had a fine game this past Sunday.

Maybe some sort of switch was turned on by the ugly overtime victory and yesterday's very impressive performance.

It is clear that the light has come on for certain players recently (Austin and Jenkins); maybe the larger team is starting to get it too.

By the way a couple other notes I should have included:

1) We had 4 false start penalties, 3 by OL. Thats bad, but not a one of them was Flozelle Adams. And other than one or two plays, I didnt see anything from John Abraham. Adams had a really good game.

2) Oh yeah, we're really missing Pasqualoni and Bowles arnt we.

Oh noes!!!! David called out the negative ninnies that said we didn't have a chance of winning after we slaughtered them!!!

The audacity.

Who said we have no chance of winning? I don't recall a wave of people thinking the Falcons were a juggernaut.

I must admit that Austin suprised me with the game he had today.I still want to see a few more games from Austin though to see how he does as more tape is compiled.I'm sure that after today defensive coordinators are really going to study what he can or can't do.I'm hopefull that he comes through with flying colors.

Craig
I don't understand how Austin surprises people.

I'm not saying we should expect 170 yards from him weekly, but look back over his brief career at how well he's done when given the chance.

Even back to 2006, when he gets the ball in his hands, it's obvious he knows what he's doing. He's a natural, and you can't quantify that.

Yes fans are stupid for doubting this inconsistent, highly talented team.

Some on here are much smarter and braver than others..... on the interwebs that is............

The laugh emoticon is clearly masking your tears. Cheer up, there will be plenty of more chances to give us your realistic views.

This is too good to slip to the third page. And I agree with your Jenkins comment. I don't know if anyone other than Ware and Ratliff is playing better on defense than he is right now.

I'd like to say I understand what the hell you are crying about, but I dont

How is it antagonizing when I point out what was obvious, that for basically two weeks numerous people gave our team no chance whatsoever to win yesterday...and if what I posted originally was an example of "trying hard to antagonize" then it doesnt take much to impress you, because that there was no antagonizing going on...

The only thing wrong with the thread was a couple of people belly aching over nothing.

David, you should have thrown in a "Dallas sucks and we are doomed" somewhere in your original post.

It would have fared better.

Otherwise, excellent post. Agreed with most of it.

I cant do that, it'd mess with my blind homer agenda

There are a lot of pots calling the kettle black in this thread. :D

And let the record reflect that I called the Cowboys winning by double digits :D, yet even I was suprised and elated by the outcome. Were there some things that the team could have done better, no doubt, but jeez people, enjoy the win and if you must eat crow, enjoy it. Even crow tastes good with a tall glass of dominating win.
