I'm not sure why I'm showing a quote in the Quick Reply window, nor do I know what a "CZ Expert" is, but I was certainly one of those who had very little faith that we'd play well enough to keep up w/ Atlants, let alone beat them.

But I am the first to admit this was a great win and it is incredible what this team can do when it puts it's mind to it. I'm not totally convinced we are in the POs, but if we play like this every game, we have a great chance to make the POs and even win.

I just hope this is really the start of something big, and I sense it may well be, especially the relationship that is developing between Romo and Austin. Their play seems to be lifting the entire team to produce. It's going to get a lot tougher in 5-6 games when team have some game film on Austin, but for now I'm just gong to enjoy what's unfolding before me...

If we were to play like this every game MINUS THE STUPID DRIVE KILLING MISTAKES we can hang with anybody.

Yes fans are stupid for doubting this inconsistent, highly talented team.
Some on here are much smarter and braver than others..... on the interwebs that is............

I think many are missing the point. I have been critical of this team at times and I have yet to get bashed for it.

It is the same people who only have negative things to say over and over and over that get called on it.

We lose. Attack. Our team barely wins. Attack. We blow someone out. Attack. Our players suck. Other teams sucky players rule. I mean give me a break.

If you need any further proof Romo is the third highest rated QB in the history of the NFL and we got people wanting to cut him.

I mean the stupidity should be pointed out IMO.

Healthy skpeticism is warranted to the non stop bashing is a whole different story.

Agreed. Public shaming is the only way to get the idiots to leave or shut up.

Really good post, gbrittain. It's a weird dynamic that has people defending their right to post insupportable emotional nonsense and then pout when called on it.

Meanwhile, the other half of the group is out starting threads about a two-team race for the division crown and working themselves into a lather positioning for another inevitable letdown.

The real test for Miles Austin will be once teams start double teaming him. We'll see if he can still get separation when that happens. I'm hopeful, but you never know until it happens. There have been a ton of great #2 receivers that did not fare well once they became the #1 receiver.

Wow.

So the regulars decide who is an idiot and then they shame him/her and hope he/she leaves feeling like they should never come back.

That's awesome.

Cowboyszone is a great family friendly place for all the Cowboys fans to come share their views.

Unless a guy like Theo doesn't agree with your OPINION.

They you are an idiot and will be jumped on and the public humiliation will then ensue from other members like zrinkill, gtbrittain and Idgit.

This place is a ****ing joke.

And from now on that's how I am going to treat it.

Well put. As I noted last night, a certain segment of the fan base seethes with contempt for their fellow fans, and this petty diatribe is Exhibit A. The old David was never this callow or vindictive, so the mystery lingers.

I think he's just giving as good as he gets. That's the way it goes in here. One side is the so called "realists". And the other side always sees things with a "glass half full".

I didn't see anything wrong with his initial post. There are countless posts and threads directed at the fans who go into each week with hope, that try and tear down anything that is deemed positive. It is what it is.

It's called a public forum. That's how things work.

Sorry if you thought you could say whatever you want without consequence.

The sad thing is you think it actually works this way. No one gets to decide for anyone else who they think the idiot is. Everyone comes to their own opinion. And if more people than not come to the opinion that whatever you're peddling deserves criticism, then you're going to hear about it.

From now on, dc?

Anybody who goes way out on a limb with unsupportable opinions, pooping loudly in every thread, deserves to be called out for that sort of nonsense. It's the same way I'd treat the guy at a party who's screaming and hollering for no reason in the corner. Or someone in a debate who has no argument but who thinks they should win points by being loud and repetitive.

The easiest way to avoid public humiliation is to not go overboard saying humiliating things. You think it's a bad thing that the board is self-correcting. We get that. I think it'd be much worse if this was just a place for people to come and scribble and shout. Let's just agree to disagree.

Here's my theory, and anyone please feel free to strike it down.

I think it's become clear that Austin can and will shine in a No. 2-type role. I say a No. 2 role because, even though he's clearly been our go-to guy in recent weeks, teams haven't paid him the attention given to true No. 1s. As you said, we still don't know what will happen when that occurs.

But say teams start to devote a second man to Austin and he happens to flounder. As long as he still dictates that second man -- perhaps even in a role like the one T.O. had last season where his reputation, not the production, generated fear in opponents (see: the string of sub-60 yard games T.O. had) -- it'll still do sooo much to free up other players, particularly Witten. Without T.O., Witten's deep play ability seems to have been taken away. He's been an underneath, safety-valve type guy this year. If Austin suddenly requires a second man, Witten is unleashed.

The alternative for the defense then becomes to take away the safety from Austin, but he's clearly shown he can and will excel with just a corner on him.

Of course, the elephant in the room remains: Will Roy ever shine as everyone else around him takes away all the coverage? One reason we traded for him was to have a legitimate second threat opposite T.O., who was taking the coverage but not producing like in the past. Maybe Austin becomes that guy this year -- a player who is doubled but can't produce the numbers he is now. That's when we could really, really use Roy to make a cameo on Sundays.

I really could care less how much more RW develops from here. We really benefit having a threat on every level on offense. We've got the backs, TEs, and WR to attack the first two levels many different ways. What we've been missing for the last 18 months has been a player who can get deep and/or who can make the big play in the passing game at any time. Between Felix and Austin, we've got big plays on offense. Roy developing better with Romo from this point out is gravy.

I can't disagree with you. It's just gonna take a few more games to see how things shake out and go from there.I wonder if they will start to jam Austin at the line to disrupt his routes or be more agressive in trying to re-route him?
