Don't post players you are up in the air on or just have totally given up on.

Post players you are 100% positive, no doubts about it, want them on this team in the future.

Romo
Austin
Dez
D-ware
Witten

that's it.

Romo
Ware
Dez
Ratlif
Austin
Free
Newman

Wow, that list was a lot tougher and smaller than I thought it would be.

This is my exact list.

Feels odd leaving Witten off. But I don't know that I am 100% sure I care if he comes back or not.

Offense
Free
Miles
Dez
Romo
Witten

Defense
Newman
Jenkins
Ware
Ratliff
McBriar

Dez, Roy, Miles, Felix, Tony, Gurode (for now), Free, Witten, Phillips, Bennett, Sam Young, Ware, Spencer, Butler, Ratliff, Bowen, Lee, James/Brooking (for now), Newcomb, Jenkins, Scandrick (for now), Ball (only as a 4th CB), Buehler, McBriar, LaDoucier.

Unfortunately, even though I have a longer list than most people, we have to keep many more...you don't drop a guy until you have someone to replace him with.

The talent on this team is way over-rated, imo.

Romo (Top 5 QB, we will realize just how valuable he is now that he's gone for a while)
Ware (Top 3 pass rusher)
Dez (Brightest future of any player on our team...Special)
Ratliff (Beast)
Austin (Top 3 WR)
Free (Our best O-Lineman right now)
Newman (long term would like to see moved to FS...but still keep on team)
Sensabaugh (Use him right, has no business covering #1 WR's)
Jenkins (Bright, bright future, some bad calls have gone against him)
Spears (Still undervalued)
Olshansky (stupid dancing aside)
Roy Williams (We've already paid him most of his big money, he's worth keeping)
Witten (Still one of the best all-around TE's in the league)
Felix (Needs the ball more in space, still think he's a special player)
Beuhler (Very good on kickoffs and last line of defense on coverage, becoming adequate FG kicker as well).
McBriar (Best punter in the league IMO)

I respect a lot of your lists, I question the choices on Newman and Felix.

I cannot for the life of me understand the choice to keep Gurode. are you serious? you even said "for now".

make sure your list is 100% positive. if there is any doubt, leave them off.

Romo (but we need to draft his replacement in the next two years)
Dez
Austin
Ware
Jenkins

Ok, though, imagine a new coaching staff where players get a different voice in their ears.

There are a few guys that I think then rebound, namely and hopefully, A Spencer and M Jenkins. Those are two pro-bowl potential guys, that can turn it back around. Young enough. Have shown it in past. They need to get good coaching and have their confidence return.

My list

O:

Romo
Free
Choice
F Jones
Witten (although he could play better and needs more rest)
Bennett (still upside on this man-child or he replaces Witten)
M Austin
Dez (love that he loves the game like he does)
R Williams (I'd ask him to renegotiate contract, but he's valuable used right)
Hurd (if he plays special teams like last night and stays cheap)
Phillips (man did we miss him as blocking TE/FB)
Young (need to groom some young Oline)
Costa (see Young)
Gronkowski (gets another training camp)
McGee (gets another year - we need a backup that isn't 40 eventually)

D:

Ware
Rat
Spencer
Jenkins
Newman (getting older - but Scandrick hasn't shown he can replace him)
Lee (better be at least an ok player in MLB for future or another huge hole)
James (solid vet, but getting on, and is he too expensive for lack of big plays?)
Akwasi (gets another year at least to develop)
Josh Brent (like this guys power/motor, and overall potential
Spears (if he doesn't cost too much - decent against run)
Bowen (decent backup rotation guy)

The rest of D, unproven and I don't know much about them. They need playing time for rest of year, so we know what we got.
The 3 Williams' - need to play
The young safeties need to play

The oline and secondary with middle lb'er are our positions of greatest need by far.

Special Teams:

Stick with Buehler, don't give up too fast like with Folk.
McBrian and Long Snapper are just fine
If you have to, bring in another FG guy next year should he struggle rest of year, but it WORKS having Buehler kickoff for touchbacks. Worth the roster spot until he fails at kickoffs. This team can't afford to get rid of things that work anymore - too many other holes.

The following guys might just need to be replaced:
Columbo
Davis
Gurode (although I think he gets 1 more year)
Hatcher
Barber (unless he's willing to take a reduced roll and paycut? - love him, but he's worn out and not the same as 1st couple years).
Sensabaugh (we pulled another Hamlin with him maybe?)

LarryCanadian

Romo
Dez
Ratlif
Spears
Austin
Free
Newman
Jenkins
Gourode (for now)
Spencer (maybe)

I would trade Ware for 2 1sts, those trades tend to always work out better for the team getting draft picks. There are too many holes to fix and we are 3 years away even with new coaches.

2 MLBs (or OLB if go to 4-3)
2 Safeties
2 OG
1 CB
1 DE/NG/DT
1 OT
9 players

I realize Ware is really good, but he is not a leader and he isn't mean. There is no killer instinct on this team and no leader. I trade Witten too (if you get a 2nd). There are 10 TEs better in the league right now and I think Bennet or Phillips can fill in (see Fasano).

The last couple of drafts have been awful (save Dez). There is no quality backups, the 9 positions above are not even serviceable. Maybe a coach can make some guys serviceable. Dallas has had overrated talent for 3 years. They caught the league by surprise in 07 and the league (and injuries)caught up in 08. 09 was trashed until Austin and Felix got bigger roles.

One thing is certain. You can win with Romo, he is a top 5-8 QB - its the rest of these players who likely wouldn't start for any other team that kill us collectively:

Def (about half are not even serviceable)
Olshansky,
Ball,
Sensy
James
Brooking

Off (about half are not even serviceable)
Davis
Columbo
Holland (although I think he could be serviceable)
FB
Barber (Jones maybe above average if he loses weight and Choice could be good)

a lot of people left jenkins off their lists but i think with the right coaches he can be an all pro corner.

After last night?

Romo.
Dez.

The defense should be publicly flogged for impersonating a football unit.

We can always get better at every position but ya... For sake of shortening the list Ill just concentrate on starters

Romo
Bryant
Austin
Ware
Ratliff (Wish he was Dend though, we need a fat guy in the middle)
Newman
Jenkins

edit-How could i forget McBriar

I was going to say Free but he was owned lastnight. Owned. Also, if Gurode was less dumb him too.

Dez
Lee
Jenkins
Jones
Miles
Free
Romo
Ware
Ratliff
McBriar
Ladouceur

Coaches can't make you tough. If your scared of contact, that won't change.

That is all on Jenkins.

Him lining up 12 yards off the WR is on the coaches. But the lack of being physical is all on Jenkins.
