Anything round 4-7 I'm all for it.
I'd be looking to take our top choice at LB earlier than that, like to rds 2-4 instead of 4-7. IMHO, just settling for a late rd guy that may or may not be good enough isn't the way to go for this defense.

stole this list of our picks from big dog on another thread, if these are right then IMO we should to take a LB in rds 2 or 3.

1st Round: No. 24
2nd Round: No. 56
3rd Round: No. 88
5th Round: Comp Pick (Connor McGovern)
6th Round: Comp Pick (Dalton Schultz)
7th Round: No. 234 (Raiders)
7th Round: No. 245

Yeah we have major needs at OL/C, MLB, RB, DT. Also need another DE, S, nickel CB, WR.

Tyron is a FA and about done.
Biadazz is also a FA.
LVE is likely gone.
Pollard is a FA and isn’t a feature RB. Even Dowdle is a FA.
Armstrong is a FA.
DLaw is nearing the end and a possible cap casualty.

I’d expect OL, LB and RB. Lucky if we get significant contribution from more than 1 or 2 rookies, if that.

This team is cooked.

I like Payton Wilson. He's 6'4', 238 and rangy, with the frame to add maybe 10-15 more pounds. I haven't read any draft stuff on him yet but I've watched him play plenty, looked like an OLB in NC State's 3-3-5, and he was all over the field. I don't know if he can can play MLB or not but he seems very quick and instinctual. He can cover too.

Injury concerns…aka he’ll be out 2nd round pick.

We need to sign Devin White. Maybe Josey Jewell too.
This is what I would do..........we are not very good at drafting LBers and I'm not throwing darts a JJ or McClay. How many wasted 2nd and/or 3rd round picks we have wasted on LBers. Just sign a solid low-cost free agent.....that way you KNOW what you are getting.

BTW....I would also add Wagner

We need a instinctive LB, not another elite athlete that this team always covets. See the play before it happens and get to a spot quicker before a lineman blocks you.
Like Sean The Snake Lee????? :lmao:

Just kidding but he's exactly the kind we need.......

Many on this board killed Bolton for his poor timed speed, but he was a very instinctive backer and has become a very good player on the next level. It's all about having those high level instincts, I don't care about elite athletes at the position.

Eichenberg is a day one plug and play starter at MLB. Exactly what we need someone who can run and has a brain on the def side of the ball.
