I skipped doing this until we had 3 games, but it's still too early.

There are two stats that almost always relate to (over the course of a FULL season) great QB play.

1) Standard QB Passer rating
2) Total TDs (Rushing and Passing) - Total Turnovers (Fumbles lost and Interceptions)

Take a QBs rating in those two areas and average it and you always get the top MVP candidates and All_Pro selections.

QB play has been great so far this year around the league....for the many of you that don't watch other teams.

These will change a TON over the next several weeks but they are after 3 weeks...so don't freak out.
Just stats...no bias.
I only included QBs that have played in 3 games.

  1. Stafford
  2. Wilson
  3. Cousins
  4. Brady
  5. Mahomes
  6. Murray
  7. Bridgewater
  8. Winston
  9. Rodgers
  10. Carr
  11. Prescott
  12. Burrow
  13. Hurts
  14. Allen
  15. Darnold
  16. Garoppolo
  17. Heinke
  18. Jones
  19. Herbert
  20. Goff
  21. Wentz
  22. Ryan
  23. Jackson
  24. Tannehill
  25. Roethlisberger
  26. M Jones
  27. Lawrence
  28. Z Wilson
Taylor, Tua, Mills, Fields, Lance, Brissett all played some but not enough yet.

This should be fun.
I'll do it every week.
Always interesting to see how the cream rises as the year goes on...and then the ones at the top rake in all the awards.

Not MY ranking. Just unbiased data

I usually find this combo of data to be better than Passer rating or QBR alone.
Both of those can get some weird outcomes. This...over 16 (now 17) games rarely does.

Meh again I have seen crazier lists....TBH if that is what Dak looks like playing in this offense...I'll take it. At the end of the day I want the Cowboys offense to be ranked #1 in effeciency...thats really what will win the day. And DMFQ doing what he is doing...it's time to get excited.

Kinda suprised Murray is not higher and Mahommes is not lower....but maybe P Mahommes last game is clouding that for me.

It's amazing how the passing game keeps evolving (with rules that favor it, of course). Dak's completion percentage is phenomenal, but there are also 12 other quarterbacks completing 70 percent or better of their passes.

We're probably unfair to NFL defenses these days because we expect them to slow down these offenses that have most of the advantages. That's pretty much impossible to do if the team has a good quarterback.

Mahomes is 4th in TD-Turnover (+7) and 7th in QB rating....that got him to 5th
Murray is 6th in TD-Turnover (+6) and 6th in QB rating....ended up 6th

fwiw, their QBRs are 4th and 5th

All I've been hearing was praise for Herbert....yet he sits there at #19. Was expecting to see him higher on the list.

I suspect he'll move up.
His turnovers have killed him....as they should.
His TD-turnovers is only +2 (6-4)

Dak is only +3, btw.....but with only 3 games, the needle gets moved too easily
The noise will settle out later in the year.

Hurts did not have remotely near as good a passer rating as Dak did last night.
Not in the same universe

Dak was lights-out.
Hurts was...jag
his number ie 350yards etc 2tds 2 picks

most were garbage time but they don't have separate place for that as Dak knows from 2020 :))dak had many of those last season before he gout hurt..
if you didn't watch the game you would have thought Hurts lit us up all game not just in the last 10mins..

If Dak keeps converting at this high level and keeps making the defense defend all our playmakers..again I expect the Cowboys offense to be tops in effeciency and that is what wins Championships...
