We're now 4 weeks in. Still very early, but more than we had last week.

FOR YOU OVER REACTORS
This does NOT say which QB is the best.....ONLY how they have played so far this year in the first 4 games.

Just a reminder that in these weekly postings, "Combined Stats" just means using two stats that --when combined--almost always point to the QBs having the best season (and the eventual All-Pros, MVPs etc)

Those stats are:
1) Standard QB Passer rating
2) Total TDs (Rushing and Passing) - Total Turnovers (Fumbles lost and Interceptions)

Here are the QB Rankings using Combined Stats after 4 weeks:

  1. Mahones
  2. Wilson
  3. Stafford
  4. Murray
  5. Prescott
  6. Cousins
  7. Winston
  8. Brady
  9. Rodgers (Tie 9)
  10. Heinike (Tie 9)
  11. Burrow (Tie 9)
  12. Bridgewater
  13. Hurts
  14. Allen
  15. Herbert
  16. Carr
  17. Darnold
  18. D Jones
  19. Ryan
  20. Garopollo
  21. Goff
  22. Wentz
  23. Mayfield
  24. Jackson
  25. Tannehill
  26. M Jones
  27. Roethlisberger
  28. Dalton
  29. Lawrence
  30. Wilson
I left out Taylor, Lock, Brissett, Fields, Mills, Lance due to lack of data.

Here are the rankings after just 3 weeks
https://cowboyszone.com/threads/post-week-3-qb-statistical-ranking.484720/

As expected, Dak, Rodgers, Murray, Herbert have all moved up
Here were last weeks rankings if anyone is curious about the movers

Winston and Heinike are top 10 QBS?
4 weeks in...

This is an ongoing thing.
I VERY highy doubt they will be that high in 5-6 weeks

This does NOT say one QB is better than another.
It is ONLY showing how players have played so far this year.

Recall that Rodgers had an awful week 1 that will skue his stats with only 4 weeks of data

So then the rankings you posted are meaningless?

Noted.

Yes. If you believe that Kirk Cousins is better than Aaron Rodgers and Taylor Heinicke is better than Josh Allen.

Thread destroyed. Close it.

Before it's blown to smithereens can we at least laugh together at this:

27. Rapistburger or Roethlisberger or however you spell it. I think we can all agree he sucks and is worth a good laughing at. Mr. Clumsy

So then you believe Kirk Cousins has out played Aaron Rodgers.

Yeah, no. I think I'll stick with my brain.
"I" don't THINK anything.

These are stats, they are not exact.
Different schedules, early season, etc.

Have you watched Cousins in all 4 games?
He probably HAS outplayed Rodgers so far this year if you include that horrific game by Rodgers in New Orleans...which is 1/4 of his games so far.

That will take a couple of weeks to dilute, stats-wise.

Of course he's the better player. And by the end of year....as always...he will finish the rankings at the top of the league or very near it.

It does not at all mean he is the better player.

Well, your brain sure isn't using critical thinking with regards to the context of this ranking . The Dunning-Kruger effect at work ladies and gentleman.

But you don’t watch every NFL game so your brain doesn’t have all the information. It’s an early report card.

You know historically what things have looked like so likely have a fair idea of how things will finish up but this tells you stuff like Stafford, and Dak are MVP contenders while Rothsberger is cooked. It’s up to you to decipher whose a pretender on the list and who has legitimately improved or adapted well to their new environment. It’s not meant to be used as evidence to say x is better than y, it’s a snap shot tracking progress.
