Lol, I think we found our WR to replace Miles Austin, he may be young, but I'm sure he's still an athletic freak like his dad. I'm guessing the little man probably already runs near a 4.4 40, and probably has a 45" vertical, get it done Jerry! Pay the m... kid! He can wear number 00, kinda like 'half' an 88. :D X/88 and x/00

That picture is actually mis-attributed. It's a video still, and I have the video. That's from a game in 1969. Go to an actual team photo from 1972, which is the last time they played before White got there in 1975, and take a close look at the socks and shoes, compared to the photo that was posted.

But the dead giveaway is in the video, where you can see there is no name on the back of the jersey, (names didn't go on until 1970)

So no, it is not Randy White.

That is Bradshaw, he didn't enter the league until 1970, so it's not 1969.

Pretty sure that is Randy White hitting Bradshaw in one of our Super Bowls. (not sure about the Super Bowl)

Ok, so I am curious. Is this in fact randy white and is that in fact terry Bradshaw?

It is Bradshaw, .. I have no earthly idea if it is RW or CH. LOL!

I always thought that was White when I see that picture, but Irvin Cowboy seems pretty certain it is Howley.

I'm not that certain.

Whichever it is, I hope he crushed Bradshaw.

If it is Howley it is from our 1972 regular season game with the Steelers at Texas Stadium.

I was mistaken on the year. It's got to be 1972. The video is so quick that the name on the back of Howley's jersey is probably there, you just can't make it out.

The only Super Bowl that could be from is X, as it was played when the Orange Bowl still had artificial turf. But that's not when this took place, as there are no bicentennial patches on either player, (the patch was worn on the left shoulder by both teams.)

Oh, cause I was thinking maybe it was #12 before Bradshaw in 1969.

So, howley in 72 as a possibility. Got it.

Also, it almost certainly has to be a still from a video because it captures Bradshaw as looking very athletic. Lol

Nice, where were they taken at? Man I miss the old Cowboys....:(

The pics from 1988 were taken at the New Orleans Fairmont Hotel where the Cowboys were staying before their game vs. the Saints in early October. The pic from 1989 was taken on Poydras Street as Jimmy was about to board the bus to coach in his first regular season NFL game vs. the Saints.

I have always loved that picture, seeing as how I am not too fond of Bradshaw or the steelers, based on where I live.

But finding out that it is Chuck Howley makes it even better for me.

Because Howley is the reason I became a Cowboys fan(good story), and he is the reason my username is WV Cowboy.

Chuck Howley was the original WV Cowboy, .. I am Jr.

That's Chuck Howley. I had always thought it was White, but it's not. Long-time fans will recognize the "3" on the field as belonging to Texas Stadium. Bradshaw and White only faced each other once at Texas Stadium in the regular season, on a Monday night in 1982. Even if you ignore the fact that it was a night game, Bradshaw had already gone to the more modern face mask by then. Since that picture is not from 1982, then it's definitely not a regular season game. The only chance that it's White would be if it were a preseason game.

It could have been preseason, because I know the two teams played each other the last preseason game of 1975 at Texas Stadium. I was at that game, and it was not treated like a preseason game by any of the players or coaches. Drew Pearson made a one-handed grab in the back of the end zone for the game winner with 18 seconds left. But I digress. The photo in question doesn't appear to have been taken in the early evening. Too much light. Looks more like an overcast day.

That just leaves Oct 8, 1972 in Irving. The number on the field fits. The face mask fits. And look at the shoes.

Thank you for personal, history lesson. I love those. Someone tells you a story and you are taken back with them.

Very cool.

STILL ... Would like the visor where the "still" photo originated from. THAT Wwould probably allow you to elaborate more for us. :)
