Post your interesting facts about Dallas HERE

They suck in December and haven't won a playoff game since 1996. Jerry Jones is a bad GM. And Jean-Jacques Taylor tells it like it is. ;)

lol this one is a tribute to my recent road trip to some visit some family in north texas for thanksgiving:

Throckmorton, TX is the home of Hall of Fame DT Bob Lilly

Cowboys running back Herschel Walker is the only player in the history of the NFL to have gained 4,000 yards three different ways (rushing, receiving, and kickoff returning). During the 1987 season, Walker led the Cowboys in rushing attempts, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, pass receptions, receiving yards, and total touchdowns.

Damn better than Mifflin,Texas!

The origin of the city's name is disputed but many credit former Vice President George Mifflin Dallas, who was in office during Texas' annexation as being the source of the name....oh you meant facts about the Cowboys....;)

The Cowboys are the only team that can boast 20 straight winning seasons in it history.

Wow, I knew we had a huge advantage in head-to-head records over the other NFC East teams, but I did not realize our Division Title record was nearly equal with all the other teams combined --> Cowboys 20, Giants/Eagles/Commanders 23.

Hopefully soon to be 21-23, btw. ;)

Ok...Here's another.
In what year did Harvey Martin record 23 sacks?

OK...Times' Up...
1977. The 1978 NFL team highlight film for the Cowboys clearly mentions Harvey Martin's 23 sacks along with several other publications. However, when Strahan was making his run into the record books, three of Martin's sacks mysteriously were taken away.

The 1st Drive-In and the term carhop, were both an invention of tobacco magnate Jessie G. Kirby and physician Rueben W. Jackson's Pig Stand restaurant, opened along the Dallas-Fort Worth Highway (West Davis Street) in the Fall of 1921.

Dallas Clark was born in Livermore, Iowa and was a multi-sport star at Twin River Valley High School.

Great thread.

The experts will know all of mine, but I'm sure some of you won't...

Jimmy Smith was a Cowboys WR when we won Super Bowl XXVII.

Deion played an entire game as both a starting CB and starting WR due to Irvin's suspension, in the '96 opener at Chicago. He was our leading receiver with 9 catches for 87 yards. We lost, 22-6.

The attendance record for a game was once held by the Cowboys-Oilers playing in Mexico City in the 1994 preseason. We lost, 6-0, and I cried after the game. I was 8.

Guilty as charged- I have been a member of this forum much longer than you. In fact, I even hung around some of the predecessor sites in the mid-90s that a couple of the other members here hung around (can't recall the name). Many years, a lot of good information

Not since 1969

So i guess you could say the Cowboys have never won a championship while playing in Dallas

They played in the Cotton Bowl until October 24, 1971. Part of the 1971 season was played in the Cotton Bowl and Dallas won Super Bowl VI concluding the 1971 Season.

Fact: I used to cry when the Cowboys lost, but I stopped that behavior two years ago after the Giants playoff loss. I'm now 46. ;)

It's OK to cry for the Cowboys.

Really it is.

Only one man by the name of Martellus has ever played for the Cowboys.
And Margene.
